Excellent pleco baby-making cave
Because the color of the pleco cave seemed a bit too bright for my 29g fish tank with a pair of bristlenose plecos, I hid it beneath a flat rock and a piece of wood, so only the cave’s mouth was visible. Perhaps also because of such a well-protected location, the male of the pair found it within half an hour, and since then, he has spent most of his time there.Amazingly, barely two weeks later, I noticed a bunch of pleco babies near the cave today, trying to forage on the adult pleco food I supplied earlier. I will happily give them something better suited for their pleco baby needs. Recommend.

The pleco cave looks nice and love the fact that is ceramic and not resin. Pennywise (my clown pleco), has not found it yet since it is brand new, but I canât wait to see when he does because I know he is going to dig his new hide!!

The products available thru this company are great! I’m so glad that they are offered here on Amazon. It’s difficult and next to impossible to find safe aquarium decor that has a natural look and is designed for catfish/plecos and cichlids in my local big box stores. Thank you!Product looks as expected, but our small catfish hasn’t taken to it just yet. The cichlids seem more interested than he/she does. I’ll attempt to update if/when that changes. And, I hope to order more decor from this company soon! Highly recommended!!

very nice! Itâs a nice size for smaller plecos BUT needs work
very nice! Itâs a nice size for smaller plecos. My lemon Bristlenose pleco is about 5â in size now. She doesnât go all the way in and has half her tail sticking out then comes out (although to be fair she is not use to caves and likes to hang out under her wood bridge instead) so I donât know if she likes it. I donât have a male yet. Maybe males like caves better to lure the females in, LOL! man cave.That being said the inside had a few sharp clay bumps/flaws that needed sanding down because they were sharp. The dark brown is only a tint and not a solid brown color all the way through the clay mix. The cave gets much lighter in the water, almost as light as orange clay pots because itâs just a translucent tint color. The natural base clay color is the orange plant pot pottery clay. I like the grove texture on the outside so it looks more like a natural form of bark cave instead of a manmade boring unnatural cave. Been looking for a natural cave for a while now and this seems to be the only one out there. It blends in better with the decor but the color needs work so itâs a solid brown.To the manufacture… Is the tinted color non toxic? Quality control needs to be better by checking the inside of the caves for sharp clay bumps and sand them soft accordingly. Also not sure what clay dyes can be mixed into pottery clay to make colors but they must be non toxic. If you guys can figure out how make the cave a solid or two tone brown ceramic tunnel using non toxic clay dye… that would be better incase the tunnel needs sanding and or chips or the color rubs off. There must be something out there to dye the clay solid brown before firing the clay. Browns are more natural then orange color clays. Also we need more sizes for bigger plecos. The price would be more reasonable if all these tips were put into place.

Bought this when my panda garra outgrew the tiny driftwood holes she was squeezing into at night. I was worried she might be too big to easily turn around when she became full grown (3 inches long), but she hasn’t had any problems whatsoever.

Bought a breeding pair of bristle nose plecos, to deal with the green in my tank with my loaches and gold fish, they didn’t like the rocks and wood I had in the tank often with both of them digging under the same stone then pushing each other out.I bought this cave as I do want them to potentially breed, on putting the cave in both fish ignored it and went back under the rocks, the next morning I get up to the males back end sticking out of the cave.Since then he is in the cave all day everyday with the female often paying a visit or staying nearby under the rocks, then they come out on a night and clean the green before going back to his cave.So I would say this cave gets the BN pleco seal of approval, just have to hope soon I see little plecos out in the plant’s.
