The Hoof Boss Mobile holster accepts a Dewalt brand 20V rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery or a compatible replacement. The battery is NOT INCLUDED with the trimming set. 20V USA Model Numbers – DCB200, DCB201, DCB203, DCB204, DCB205, DCB206 The Hoof Boss Mobile Complete Hoof Care Set is designed for horse owners, veterinarians, zoo keepers and professional farriers among others who are more engaged with the animals’ hooves other than doing regular maintenance trimming and shoeing. The Set consists of the battery powered version of the Hoof Boss and contains a mixture of different types of discs used for laminitis type issues such as sole abscesses, white line, hoof wall cracks. The green “V” groove disc is used for hoof wall resections and prepping for hoof casts. The 4-tooth Cdisc can remove hoof material in almond size slivers as thin as an eggshell, making it effective for the successfully treatment of foundered horses. The Cdisc duplicates the actions of a hoof knife and limits the need for nippers. The Red Dome Top Disc is used as a rasp to smooth and finish the hoof after trimming. The Orange Disc is a heavy grit disc used to remove excessive hoof material. The Black Cut-Off disc can be used to cut nail heads off or outline the area for a resection. The two Flap Disc Sanders are used to buff the hooves of your show animal, making it look like it just had a pedicure! The Trimmer itself is ergonomically designed to help ease the wrist and hand pain associated with hoof trimming. The Trimmer is lightweight and easily operated with one hand. It has a powerful motor that provides a safe, fast, and smoother trimming experience. Life changing!
I am a 69 year old grandmother who trims her own horses and her boarders (14 in all). I was having trouble trimming with traditional nippers and rasps as I get older. This grinder makes it easy to keep up. My horses stand better for it than for traditional trimming. I can do all four feet in less time than I used to do one foot. Light weight and easy to use, BUT, wear gloves. Love this grinder!

Good for Hoof maintenance
I am so happy with the use and handle for the Hoof Boss hoof shaper. It will save me a lot of farrier expense. My set did not come with the DVD though, so I have used internet videos to learn techniques.

Second time used Hoof Boss stopped working
I purchased the Hoof Boss last fall in November to be prepared for spring when the weather permitted to have them transported to me. Used the Hoof Boss on my donkey and it worked better than I expected. Today I made sure two batteries were charged so I could trim up one of the horses hoofs. I have to use a sedative with this mare to ensure we are both safe. Just as I was about to finish up on the first hoof the Hoof Boss stopped working. Swapped out battery the tool still did not work. In fact the first battery was still nearly charged. The Hoof Boss stopped working all together. I let the machine set for a bit and tried it again. No change, the tool is simply not working. I am very disappointed. Not only do I feel I wasted good money on this product, I also wasted money on sedatives (which is not cheap), I will be returning this product. I hope others who purchased this same product have a better experience

Died in 4 months
My husband and I Do our own horses trims. We found this tool and watched a ton of videos on it. We got it and absolutely loved it. Complete game changer!! Unfortunately, we had it 4 months and maybe 20 some trims and the motor burned up in it today. We donât block the vents, and use it properly per manufacturer videos and inspections. Itâs so expensive itâll be awhile before we can order a new one. Weâre highly disappointed as everything weâve watched say they last a long time.
