Game changer for delicate aquarium debris removal tasks
This little siphon vacuum fills a pretty critical niche in my aquarium maintenance needs. I use it in a breeding tank to gently vacuum up debris from the bottom of the tank – it’s small enough that with care I can avoid sucking baby fish up with the debris. And in a planted tank I can get between plant stalks to vacuum up debris that would otherwise not be reachable. The siphon is also quick and effective.

    LOVE! Highly Recommend!
I am the new owner of a 5 gallon betta tank and I’m not an experienced fish tank person. Changing the water and cleaning the tank was a huge worry! After using this tool, I’m not worried anymore. It’s easy!My son wanted a pet of his own and I told him we could get a gold fish in a bowl for the kitchen counter so he could enjoy it while eating breakfast, snacks etc. Little did I know that gold fish are not suitable for fish bowls. They get too big for them. I’m clearly a novice fish person.Anyways, long story short my son and I ended up leaving the pet store with 2 female betta fish, a split 5 gallon tank with a heater and a water filter and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.I was told I need to change about a quarter of the water in the tank every week. Our tank is in a little cubby above a storage cabinet in our media console. This syphon is small enough that I can stick it into the tank without removing the whole set up from the cubby. I love the end attachments, they make it so easy to change the water. I even use the little sucker one to kind of vacuum the rocky area at the bottom. I don’t worry about sucking up one of the fish or any rocks on accident because the tube is small and the attachments work so well.I syphon out the tank water into a 5.5L bin from the local restaurant supply store (the measurement lines on the restaurant bins make changing the water extra easy, hot tip), rinse the bin out then put it on top of the console and syphon the same amount of fresh water back in after adding the water conditioner. The whole process takes less than 15 minutes. Very little mess- I usually spill a little water when I remove the syphon from the tank after adding the fresh water. Not a product problem, just a user error every time. This is an awesome aquarium tool! If you have a small tank and don’t know anything about aquariums, this is great, cheap and easy solution to water changes. Works perfectly for us and our new pets, Spike and Fin. Recommend!

It works, just have to be careful.
Needed something to help clean out our little Betta tank. Pump works fine but you do have to watch out for the drain end of this. Hose is pretty stiff and it is easy to not realize the hose can pop out of the bucket we drain into which as made for a couple of wet floor incidents. Not entirely fault of the pump but it would be nice if there was a more secure simple way to make sure the drain end was secured or if the hose was a little more flexible. I’d buy it again if I needed a replacement, just plenty of room for improvement for absent minded folks like me.

    Perfect for a nano aquarium
I have a Marineland Portrait 5-gallon aquarium, and this works wonderfully to clean out every nook and cranny of the tank. It seems to be durable enough. It’s very easy to use, just a couple squeezes on the pump and the water starts flowing. It would be nice if it had a shut-off valve, but I just kink the hose to stop the flow and move it to a new location.

    Cheap
Worked great until the return period was over then the motor/electrical connection just stopped working. Had to add saltwater to the tank directly with using the bucket which is very heavy and more time consuming.

    It’s ok, but clogs easily
I wanted to love this gravel vacuum. In some ways I do. It was a little tricky to put together (seems like it would be super obvious) so I had to come back to the photos. At first I couldn’t get it to suction at all and realized I had it connected wrong. The orange bulb needs to be closer to your bucket and mine was up closer to my hands. Once I had it switched around suction was amazing. To note, I have a 5.5 gallon tank with one nerite snail and a few plants.I liked the attachment that has the brush bc I really wanted to rub it along the gravel and sides of the glass to clean up any funk I couldn’t see. The brush got clogged pretty quickly, so I took it off and just used the vacuum as is.Each time gravel will suck up into the siphon, I can’t get it to release. I have another gravel vacuum I use on a separate tank which is much bigger and usually once I lift the siphon out of the water the gravel pours back out, not with this one. I have to take pieces apart and shake them to get the gravel out, otherwise suction is practically nothing. Yesterday while cleaning, I had to do this three times.I think it works great if you’re only changing water or maybe if you don’t have gravel. But to use this on gravel to try and get old debris out, it’ll clog really quickly.

    Perfect for a 10 gallon
I’ve used siphoning systems before and this one is hands down the easiest and the most “mess-free” method I’ve used so far. Set up was easy. The clips provided to keep the inlet and outlet tubes in place actually work. First use I tried the ‘vacuum’ attachment and was able to skim surface of sand with ease. Looking forward to trying the brush attachment if I ever need it.I did see a complaint about the speed of the flow when siphoning and with a 10g and 25% water changes the speed is perfect. Flow allows enough time to clean while siphoning and NOT overfill your bucket!Great product. Only thing I can’t review is how long it will last. Manual says you can unclog the siphon ball if it ever gets clogged so I’m assuming a long time. If not? It’s cheap enough to buy another.
