Excellent all in one
This aquarium is beautiful, roomy for 5 gal and sleek. It comes with everything you need. Filtration medium, circulation pump, tubing and lighting. (You purchase rocks, decor etc) The instructions were basic and confusing. I used the Pic in the description to figure out the medium layout. I was still confused by the pump. The way it’s packaged was not the way it fits in the housing. The 90° elbows seemed to be on the wrong ends according to the diagram. They do turn, but they don’t accommodate the suction cups on the pump. In the end, I put the pump in so it worked. It isn’t sitting on the floor of the housing nor suctioned to the side. It’s just hanging out an inch or two above the bottom but it’s working fine. Other than some simple design flaws w the filtration, which is hidden behind the curved portion, the tank is nice. I have yet to clean it since putting fish in. The glass lid is a nice touch to keep water from evaporating. There is a small cutout, possibly for feeding but I used it for the heater cord. So every time I feed, I have to lift the light lid and take off the glass cover. No biggie. The 3 light settings look nice. I have glofish so the blue lights really set off the colors of my fish. All said, I would recommend this tank for families w small fish. It’s simple, clean and looks good.

It’s a cute concept but the air pump makes the whole tank vibrate so we didn’t use it for long.

OBSESSED
I agonized over whether to buy this tank for weeks. It’s definitely outside of my typical price range and other than the super cool aesthetic and shape, I questioned whether it was really worth it for a $15 Dragonscale Betta.It’s freaking worth it. My hesitation turned out to be a lucky thing: I watched it for weeks and snagged it on sale one day for $80. I was really thrilled at having such a cool looking tank for my gorgeous white, silver and blue betta. But when it arrived and I assembled it… I realized I could not have been smarter about this choice.The filtration is what gets me the most. It’s hidden, with only a small waterfall arm protruding. The ability to adjust the water flow strength is SUCH an incredible feature to have. Betta’s do not prefer super active waters and instead enjoy a gentle flow, so I turned mine down to the lowest setting and it’s PERFECT. It’s difficult to find filtration systems even remotely like this on it’s own (I’ve looked desperately for my other tanks) so I’d say this company really has the competition beaten with the filtration aspect, alone. Also, I’ve heard and read some pretty horrific stories about other systems causing terrible harm to fish so I was so beyond thrilled at the way this was structured and hidden. I was a bit worried about the glass overlay at first, but when I put it together actually realized I preferred it (I have a 10 gallon Aquaeon and this tank helped me realize my other tank is actually garbage and I now loathe that hood). And the touch-activated LED lights are so stinking cool. Bright white, warm yellow, and a deep blue all illuminate the tank and fish beautifully. The touch sensor is highly sensitive which I like. You barely need to hover your finger over it to change it so no jamming your finger’s on stupid buttons. The glass is amazing quality and you can see straight through the edges/corners when your fish peek at you. Mine houses one betta and four corycats and they’re all happier and healthier than the fish in the other two tanks in my house (despite all tanks receiving the same routine care). I think that alone speaks the most volumes. I wish this tank came in a ten gallon because I would pay an inordinate amount of money for it at this point. What began as my being a skeptic turned into a devout believer. Do not doubt yourself if you’re considering this tank. Just buy it. I PROMISE you will not regret it.
