Leaky
I like and have used RSVP pens for years. Therefore, when looking for a pen to give out at a special event, I chose these pens, which are reasonably priced. However, out of 96 pens, seven had visibly leaked so that they were NOT in a condition suitable for giving out. 7+% defective might not seem like a big problem, but there is concern that the rest of the pens may leak, especially over time. The pens also arrived late, so there was no time to substitute a different item.See the photo. The pen at the bottom shows what the pens should look like, clear. The seven pens above that have black “stripes” below the tip that are actually leaked ink. Notice also the cap at the right with a large blob of ink stuck on the inside. Other reviewers mentioned leaky pens also, so if considering this product, you should probably factor in some extras/spares.Although not shown in the photo, these pens have some very different levels of ink in the barrel. It is assumed the different levels are a result of the leaking… it makes you wonder if these pens are “seconds” or “rejects” from Pentel.
