Customers say

Customers find the syringe works well, particularly for feeding sick pets and older cats. The size receives mixed feedback – while some find the larger size great, others say it’s too large for cats. The build quality and ease of use also get mixed reviews, with some finding it well-made and easy to handle, while others report it breaking after one use and being difficult to use. The stickiness is a significant issue, with customers noting it gets stuck from the first use, and the sliding mechanism receives mixed feedback, with some saying it slides easily while others find it doesn’t slide well at all.

Miracle product. Saved our Kiwi from starving <3
For reference, I’m using it with a 4 pound Yorkie, and the tip is still quite big for her, but she licks the end and it works! She had a surgery for a rare issue on her C1 and C2 spinal columns (called atlantoaxial subluxation- AAS) which left her with bone screws and cement in her spine, and a neck brace once that didn’t work. We were afraid she was waiting herself out to die because she was so confused and in pain, but we wondered if it was just discomfort being able to eat, and it was!! We’re so relieved. This syringe is so big for her that a single pull is a full meal for her when slowly given. Genuinely saved her from starvation I’d say. 10/10 would recommend for dogs who may need help for whatever reason. Just fill with water a few times to clean, and it’s perfect.

    Works great so far
This is best feed syringe I’ve found so far. Loads well, smooth dispense. Best to warm in hot water before giving food or meds. Expands tube, work more smoothly, and pets appreciate warned food. Easy to clean. Just hope it continues to perform, as wear and tear tends to make things stick. Have to use olive oil to get others to slide well.

    Cheap and effective
I had a few of these for syringe feeding my now recovered kitty over 3 weeks 4-6x a day. Overall they are cheap and effective – helped save my kitties life during a battle with hepatic lipidosis. I had one syringe that was awful and got stuck constantly which made feedings even more stressful. I let amazon know and they immediately sent a replacement which was better. For easier use dab olive oil on the edges of the stopper prior to use and then use that to make the edges of the syringe slick prior to loading food. Will help avoid sticking. Load with a oatmeal or cream of wheat consistency food (add water and microwave a few sec). If you need to feed large amounts, I suggest getting a couple of these and loading 2 with half portions of food. You will have better control with smaller amounts of food loaded and if one sticks you have another ready to go.As for longevity, I think they do pretty well with regular use (oil helps keep the stopper from drying out). But i went back to do a final clean a week after I had finished with them and the stopper of one got stuck in the syringe and broke off.

NOT for small birds like parakeets
I often have trouble gauging sizes online. I was looking for something to use for feeding a baby parakeet and this is too large. I added it to my animal medical supply, though. It will be handy to have. It is good for large birds, cats, squirrels etc. It is sturdy and a good product – just don’t get it for smaller birds.

    Good first impression, smooth operation.
This syringe was recommended to me by a Caturday group friend. I had been using the 4 paws 12cc syringe to feed Prescription a/d to my cat, Lucky, who is suffering from liver problems. That was the only size syringe I could find in my area. Unfortunately, to get enough food in him required multiple fillings of the syringe, which meant fill syringe, feed cat, refill syringe, retrieve cat from under waterbed, feed cat….etc. I can get enough for one feeding in this syringe easily. This syringe operates much more smoothly than the smaller 4 paws syringe. Made the feeding operation less stressful and messy for both of us.We’ll see how durable it is. Lucky managed to chomp through the tip of the smaller syringe in seconds. That might also be because I didn’t know what I was doing. No problems this time.Added: I used the syringe twice a day for about 2 weeks with no issues, it held up well. Unfortunately, Lucky’s condition continued to worsen and there was nothing else to do for him.

    Not great on thick foods
Very surprised how high this thing is rated. This thing works well with liquids the consistency of water but the second you try to feed your fur ball anything remotely thick, you suddenly need to be a body builder. Twice now I’ve slammed my wrist trying to pull the thing apart to clean it.

    such a lifesaver !
My small dog has not been drinking too much water lately, but when I took this syringe and put water in it, he loves to drink water from it..I lay it on top of a bottle of water and it fits on top of it.Wanted to edit this a little bit since I’ve had this syringe now for a few weeks. It’s becoming extremely hard to use. In the beginning it was really easy to push down and now every time I use it I have to work with it and push hard in order to get the water to come out of it. Just disappointed.

    Worked great for kittens
Super easy to clean, comes apart neatly, big nozzle doesn’t clog. Worked great with 5 week old kittens.
