Seemed to be all-cotton but thin, without any stretch at all.
While this puppy vest appears to be all-cotton, the fabric is a thin knit (which could be alright for some pets), but which had almost no stretch to it: the proper size could be difficult to get a pet into.While the Medium I ordered may have barely fit my 7 lb Persian cat (she has a 13+1/2 inch girth and usually wears an XS or S sized costume from local US pet stores), without there being any give to the fabric I did not want to put a 17 yr old cat through getting her legs + torso through the inflexible openings. I had hoped for a thicker, stretchable cotton knit fabric such as those used for the manufacture of human clothing, and returned this shirt.I had also ordered, Petall Dog Shirts I Love My Mommy Costume Cute Heart Vest: its a heavier fabric,possibly a rib-knit, and is a very soft, stretchy fabric: a Medium fit my cat well, though I question how much cotton if any, is in the fabric (it could be 0-35%-50% at the most); if one doesn’t care about the poly content (which gives stretch but is a warmer fabric than all-cotton), its a nice shirt.Unless one can find a high quality stretchable 100% cotton knit fabric pet shirt or dress for frequent use, I find that a 95% cotton/5%spandex fabric (or 95% cotton/5%lycra), is the best for pet shirts unless one wants an all-cotton cloth as in sheet fabric, instead of a knit fabric. After multiple searches and chance, I recently discovered several in that fabric on Amazon with sports team logos/colors for pets: the male version is straight-bodied while the female version has a very small, solid-colored, flared skirt at its bottom (though the traditional team cheerleader pet dresses with very full skirts with alternating colors in the pleats, are all or mostly polyester)… many of the team pet outfits will come up on Amazon in searches under a Sports category (not under Pets).
