Works great, especially for the price!
Works great, especially for the price! I got this for $9.99, as a solution for my cat who likes to go down into our unfinished basement to explore. I don’t like having to keep the door to the basement open all the time because it lets cold air in, etc. With this solution, I can keep the main door closed, but my cat can come and go freely. I am grateful to the other reviewer who mentioned the magnet issue. Mine came with two little magnets, but they were not secured, so they popped out all the time. Thanks to that reviewer, I knew to be alert to this, and I determined that the cat door has two little compartments for the magnets: one on the bottom of the door flap, and one in the frame. You need one magnet in each, oriented so they attract toward each other, so that the door will flap down and stay centered in the frame between uses. However, you need to secure the magnets in their compartments, as otherwise they are strong enough that they will pull each other out. I ended up using super glue to secure them into their compartments (again confirming the correct orientation first!) and it works great now.Interestingly, the back of this door frame has no function. It attaches with its own separate screws, and has no role in the door function. I guess they figure it just looks better than having a sawed hole in the door on that side. But fyi, even if your door is thicker than the suggested door width, the door will still work, because all of the function is contained in the front panel.Interestingly, my door was within the suggested width (it’s 5/8″ wide — see photo showing door width), yet there is a gap between the front frame and back frame where you can see the sawed hole of the door. Not a big deal at all. It’s because there’s no tunnel on this door– just the front panel and back panel.I definitely recommend for the price point!

    Perfect fit!
We decided to combine the garden shed into a cat house. Now the cats can go inside and sit on the shelves I made in the windows when they want to and be protected from other animals and the environment!Works great!!!

    Cat door
This cat door is perfect for cats learning about a cat door at first. Easy to teach them the ins and outs. Fits beautifully in the door and cats fit thru it just right. It’s very sturdy my cats like to scratch at it constantly. Altho the little locks on the bottom have come off due to my cats playing with them. Very cute and easy to clean

    Good cat door.
It’s the only door I could find that would mount in a thin storm door panel. Fit nice and was pretty easy to install. The only thing is that with 2 magnets to hold it shut it takes a bit of effort for my cats to open. They were hesitant at first but are starting to get it.

    Great For The Price
Fits an 11lb cat with room to spare, This door is made for a very thin surface. It worked great in my steel garage door but would not work on an entry door. There is no cover for the inside and if rain blows it will probably leak, again fine for my garage. I would recommend it for the right place to install.

    Works, good price, some drawbacks.
Got this for a catio entrance since I live in an RV and keeping cats inside isn’t easy. The price is right. It’s quiet. Seems to seal/insulate fine when it does close all the way. It works. But, a couple issues. It doesn’t always close all the way when they come in, so I’ll have to see about that. Also, the lock switches move too easily, and the cats often unintentionally actuate them while going through, locking themselves in or out. I’ll have to secure those open when not locking them myself. Might also have to to tint it, but that’s just a preference. It works though, if you’re willing to work around it’s cheapness.

    Looks Great. Works Great
I did ALOT of research and landed here. This is mounted on side of my home w/ T1-11 siding. Works great. I did have to use longer screws as this is designed to be used in thinner material. Just wanted to give someone else like me a peice of mind if this is what you are looking for.

    Solved our problem
TLDR: Doors work great in a window for my 9 cats, the locks work about as well as scotch tape on a piece of cardboard.Let me start by saying I have 9 cats ranging in age from 9 years to 1 year old and weights from a heckin’ chonker of 15 lbs to a pack of paper towels weight more at 5 lbs . When we moved into our new home we put our cats litter boxes on our enclosed porch off the living room. We them wanted to use the window in the living room to come and go as they pleased. This was fine during the warmer months but when it started to get cold we needed a way to keep the cooler air from the porch from coming inside but also still allow the cats access (it’s heated out there but not as warm as the main part of the house). So, we bought 2 of these doors and used the cardboard that they came in to frame them in the window.*Sidenote: If you’re someone who appreciates a good cardboard box, the cardboard these were delivered in was amazing. It’s about a quarter inch thick and sturdy as hell. I love it. A piece of plywood would probably work better but I didn’t have that.As I said, I have 9 cats, some of them caught on to it super fast and had no issues going through the doors at all. For the ones that were convinced the doors were an obvious death trap set by satan himself to snatch feline souls we propped the doors open for a few days and lowered it slightly day by day after we confirmed almost everyone was going through the wide open door. We only had 1 cat that, even using that approach, was still convinced the doors were Satan’s crafty was of attempting to snatch her tiny kitty soul. For her we had to remove the magnet from one door, put her favorite canned food on the opposite side of the door, swing the door a few times so she could see it wasn’t the devils guillotine, and the only way to get the food she so desperately pined for was to suck it up and just plow on through. It worked. After that it took her a few more trips through the door after watching one of the others go through and come out on the other side, alive with their soul still intact, and she’s a pro at it now.The lock on these doors are pretty much useless. My father in law is allergic to cats and I’m pretty sure they can tell. So, when he comes over we wanted a way to be able to deny their access while he was here. It took all of 2 minutes for one of my cats to figure out if she pushed hard enough she could force her way in. She promptly went back out and held an instructional /demonstration meeting for everyone else so now they all know how to get through the door if it’s “locked”. We just take the doors out and close the window if we need to keep them out there for any reason. All in all, I love these doors.
