This is the chicken’s favorite treat.
The chickens absolutely love these. It is their favorite food. No matter how times we give them freeze dried mealworms as a treat, they always “talk up a storm” among themselves while feasting on them. Bentley, our rooster always calls the ladies over and likes to take credit like he found them. Let me tell you, all you hear is clucks galore and see all the chicken’s backsides and tail feathers while sounding like they are giving the latest news at the chicken social club amongst themselves. They make short work of any insect or bug who happens to tread in their domain. They are free range and are train to come whenever called. Amazing how you can train animals using “goodies” to entice them. We don’t even need to call them anymore, they seven see us and they come running. The only drawback is these are not very cost effective so we can’t always give it to them, but that just makes it so much more exciting when they do get them. 5 stars and 15 clucks from Bentley and the ladies. This is their favorite treat.

The Birdsâ Favorite!
The hens, and the three roosters, all love mealworms! And these made them go crazy as usual! The bantams will fly up onto my arm to get these from my hand, and the big girls will hop up in the air to get them. And theyâre apparently very nutritious for them. These come in a good sized box, and should last a while. Very happy! ð

They’re Not Just For Chickens!
I used to volunteer at a wild bird rehab; we specialized in local songbirds like robins, sparrows, crows, ect. Live mealworms were a staple in what we fed them. They’re nutritious and all birds love them. These aren’t live, but they’re the next best thing and wild birds still love them. These are great to put in your bird feeder; they really attract all your wild feathered friends in your area.

These mealworm appear to be of good quality, and my chickens love them. It helps get protein in them when it’s still too early in the year for much foraging. I wish I could say this protein treat increased their egg production, but alas, I think only the disappearance of snow and warmer days will do that.

Good addition to the chicken diet rotation!
The chickens are going crazy for these dried mealworm grubs! There’s more than I had anticipated in the package. I sprinkle them on top of their salads, we call it a “salad topper”! I have used live types of grub products in the past, and you can definitely tell the difference in egg quality with the added protein boost! The yolks are more yellow and the eggs slightly larger. The chickens also seem to have an extra “pep in their step” when provided grubs. I can’t wait to see the benefits of these dried ones in real time. I’ll definitely be ordering more of these in the future because they like them so much.
