Gives plenty of basking room
I use this for my tortoise. This is a great product. My first lights were the clip on type. The two lights I previously bought did not last a year. This light is a much better option. The metal that protects the bulb sits a great distance above the tortoise. It is on a metal mesh cover. Do not hesitate to purchase this lamp. My Tid Bit never basked under the clip on gooseneck lamps but she loves this one. For all the great quality of this lamp it is an excellent price. It is perfect.

Don’t buy
I’ve bought two of these. They come with a 25w and claim they will take a 100w. I bought 50w and they get so hot the bulb sticks and when you try to get it out the bulb breaks. They used a copper shim where the bulb screws in because without it the bulb falls out. Junk plain junk. I’ve got two useless lamps. Oh the second one shorted out where the wires connect because it gets to hot.

Perfect for my snake
Sits on top of screen, heats warm side of tank to 82-85 . Doesnât get so hot I canât touch it. Perfect heat lamp.

Decorative Small Reptile Tank Heat Lamp That Comes With Useful Extras
Nice small light for our small acrylic reptile tank. This little light is:1. Easy to use and set up2. Lots of useful features like on/off switch, timer, and dimmer3. Comes with extra bulbs (3x)4. Comes with an extra feeding clip and a clip holding suction cup to fasten the clip to the side of the tank. This lamp is great for any level hobbyist because we can always use extra feeding clips, but particularly for a first-time setup5. Stylish looking lampshadeI have an acrylic tank. The top of my acrylic tank is black metal mesh, so when I first got this lamp, I just set it directly on top of the black mesh. The lamp looked great and the lampshade matched my setup nicely. Eventually, I decided to get a hanger for the lamp because it became a hassle to handle the lamp (move it, find a place to put it) when it is hot. Now the entire setup is perfect.

Perfect light fixture
The light fixture looks great, all though we had to change out the bulbs for stronger ones, all in all I am happy with the look of this light fixture.

Stopped working but looked great while it lasted.
I bought this light because of the looks and was pleasantly surprised at the extra bulbs included. Unfortunately the light stopped working after a few months. My hunch is that the wires in the cord are fatly. It’s real shame because the power features and looks are great.
