Great for aquarium but not necessarily for a betta
I love the filtering ability of utilizing unglazed ceramics in my aquarium. This particular one has a bit more âgritâ to the texture than I expected so it may be a little to rough if you have a particularly affectionate betta, which I do. He likes to explore and rub up against all his tank accessories and this is just a tad to rough for him. It also does have a few edges that I just donât trust without further sanding to be betta-friendly. For smaller, less fragile species I think this would work great. It seems like it would also be a good host for beneficial bacteria to colonize in to keep your cycle strong in between water changes. Iâm going to use this in my tetra tank instead and I am still going to give it a solid 4.3 overall but I wouldnât encourage betta owners to purchase it.

Cool Decor
This little skull came out of the box looking exactly like the product photos, no surprises there.It feels pretty sturdy and has a great porous texture to it, I am excited to get it soaked and into a tank to see how it does! I think it will make a great surface to place some aquarium plants.
