Fountain update! After the past few days I’ve noticed….It’s definitely meant for cats or small breed dogs who drink less water. The max fill is not much and the automatic refill timer only has 3 settings (6 hours, 4 hours, or 3). It would be nice to have a 1 hour option, especially thinking ahead to hotter days here in the summer. That being said, you can refill/ refresh it by touching a button, so I just check it whenever I’m walking by and fill it manually if it’s empty. Not a big hassle, at all. If we had multiple dogs it may be more of a bother.I love the fact that it is rechargeable and doesn’t have to stay near an outlet to be constantly plugged in! This is really nice bc our house has really weird wiring and outlet placement. So far I have not had to recharge it after the initial charge the day I got it (I think it’s been 4 days so far). Love that!!Lastly, the fresh water tank is a decent size. I have only had to fill it once a day or less! Having a separate tank for the discarded water makes cleaning incredibly easy while keeping the dog hair out of his clean drinking water. I love this bc his hair is so fluffy it literally gets into EVERYTHING. Not having to buy/replace gross filters is really nice. I wasn’t loving my experiences with the fountains that had them, so this was a great alternative for me. Even after adjusting my routine and cleaning more frequently, it bothered me how dirty and slimy his bowl was every day. Like I was making him drink his own recycled saliva water. 🤢☹️The fact that this fountain prevents that from being possible is the reason I decided to keep it.

NOT For my DOG, but FOR me: an Artist!
I made several videos about this, but with the challenges of life, I didn’t get those uploaded. I will come back and share some of those because I think they’re relevant to making purchasing choices, but for now, I will tell you my thoughts..Pros. It holds almost a 2 l amount of water. That’s based on a large 2 l root beer bottle that I had on the counter. I filled it with water and it made it easier to fill.It has a container to catch the water once it’s dirty.ConsMy dog despises it! She’s scared of the beeping sounds! Maybe there’s a way to turn that off but I haven’t seen it. I’ve managed to get her to drink out a bit a time or two, but that took a lot of bribe work of sticking a treat in the water! She may just be a scary dog, but it’s something to consider if you have a dog like mine. Maybe she’s just tricking us and prefers to drink out of our cereal bowls, then this container.To be fair, our dog is a medium sized dog and this was marketed for cats.. but I thought it was a cool concept, and I still think that.. but it just so happens that she doesn’t like something that’s automated because it’s foreign to her.When I feel this with water at the sink, it leaks! I will admit that I’m not a big instruction manual reader, so maybe the instructions said to pour the water in, if that’s the case then this works perfectly. And I haven’t found the leaks on the ground.. I only find that it leaks, if you try to fill the water at the sink and carry the container and then set it on.It didn’t completely keep the water bowl clean. Even though it does dump the water, it still seems like little particles remain in the bowl! So, I can’t say that it 100% cleans out the water, and that’s not particularly problematic to me.. but it was advertised as keeping clean water. I guess it’s how you define clean. I guess my farm type dog has a very messy mouth! And to be fair, she does!With all of that said, I just had a stroke of genius last night as I considered what I was going to do with this unused watering dish, and I was thrilled to realize that IT SERVES ME WELL AS AN ARTIST!There are products here on Amazon specifically designed for artists who paint, and as I was looking at those, I realize that I have one of those.. just much bigger, and therefore much better! I realize that I could even wipe my brush along the container that catches the dirty water.With this holding close to 2 l of water as I measured it, that means a lot less getting up and down to change my water when I’m doing acrylic or watercolor paintings! And to say that I’m thrilled at the thought of this is an understatement!
