Sharp edges
Suggest you sand down any sharp edges before putting into your aquarium. I shoved some moss inside and the shrimp lay their babies inside. But one of my fish tried to get through the holes, got stuck and became unalivened.

Perfect Hiding spot for Shrimp and Cory Catfish
I had originally gotten this for my shrimp, but, apparently itâs become a favorite spot for my Panda Cory Catfish. They love to hide in them. And it makes it so that they a place to get away from my betta. When he chases them sometimes. I actually got a second one.

Holes are too big to keep out Bettas
I bought this for shrimp protection in a Betta tank. It’s a piece of ceramic material, that DOES have sharp edges particularly around the inside edges of the holes. These are relatively easily reduced with a file and not likely a problem for shrimp, however, if you are concerned about damaging Betta fish fins as I am, it will need work. I got this to protect small Cherry shrimp as only one male out of the previous batch survived to adult hood with my Betta on the prowl (now they are good buddies), but my full grown male HalfMoon Betta swam right through the holes (ALTHOUGH, I’m honestly a little worried he’ll get stuck halfway through and drown…). When I looked up and saw him, he was half in-half out just sitting there… thought he was toast. I am going to keep it and try to position it as to offer shrimp-tection and hope for the best. I don’t understand why the holes aren’t smaller if this thing is for shrimp.
