Customers say

Customers find the pet door easy to install and appreciate its functionality, particularly how it works with patio doors. The build quality is positive, with one customer noting the heavy metal bars, and they like its design, with one mentioning it blends nicely with glass doors. Customers report their dogs love using it, with one noting their cat learned to use it within a day. The weather protection and sturdiness aspects receive mixed feedback – while some appreciate the included weather stripping, others find it inadequate, and while some find it fits easily with plenty of room, others report it being too big for their 75-inch patio door.

Fast installation. Great quality. Ordered open-box.
Was hesitant to order as amz description left out a lot of info. Only a opened package unit in the size I needed was available. I figured this must be a high return item due to people ordering wrong sizes so I double checked all my measurements.Unboxing and install:The package arrived worse for wear but the contents were complete and undamaged. The material for the window wasn’t specified so I was pleasantly surprised to find it was crystal clear tempered glass. I was half expecting it would be high impact plexiglass.Installation took seconds. This is a good thing as it will be constantly taken out. Also included were weather stripping, draft seal, and additional (flimsy) lock for the existing sliding door.Instructions could be clearer as far as the additional lock is concerned. The photos are too close or cropped to really see where the lock is being installed. There are videos on the manufacturer’s site to help. The PDFs are also clearer than the printed instructions included.Use:One of my cats figured it out quickly.I temporarily removed the flap so the other cat would get used to going through it, as this was suggested by other cat owners. The flap also has a metal strip and magnets to help it stay closed so it doesn’t move when the house A/C system kicks on.So far great.

    Pet door
The pet door is great. It’s helped us to save $ on our electric bill. It took about a week for one of our cats, long hair & 35 lbs, to get used to going in and out. We bought the 7″ wide opening. He fits easily with plenty of room. It was easy to install and works great with our sliding glass door at our apartment.

Good product but doesn’t fit standard height door
First the good – It came with everything needed to secure the door and draft. Heavy foam, flexible strip and lock. Very impressive as to the completeness of the product. Our kitten trained easily to go out with a gentle push and back in with some treats to coax him. Took only a few tries and he was off and running in and out easily.Fit – You absolutely MUST measure to the OUTSIDE of the track as indicated in the product photo and not the inside of the track. It does not fit a standard height door. It missed catching the track by a fraction of an inch. We could lay it outside the track but then it’s not secure. It would require removal and reinstall every time we use it plus risk it being kicked out of place, falling and breaking. There are doors available from other vendors that adjust from 75” to 81”Pet door – the flap stayed flat for a while but after a few days it permanently curled allowing a good draft of cold through it.

The cat loves it and it works perfectly.
We have an enclosed porch with sliding glass doors leading into the house. Since the porch gate/screen has a door with a heavy lock on it, we decided that we would put this panel in so the cat could have access to the room all the time (her food, water and litter box are out there). Our door measured 76 inches high so the SHORTY size fit perfectly (even though the box from the manufacturer says 78-81 inches, if the box has SHORTY on it, it IS the smaller size door).Door fits right in frame of sliding glass door, you can use the adhesive weather stripping if you want, and then the sliding glass door is simply pressed against the pet door frame. Holds it firmly in place. There is a fairly strong magnet that holds the flap shut until cat pushes it open. Kit includes a plastic slide-in “flap cover” if you need to keep pet from getting in or out for any reason.Glad we bought this since the cat can now enjoy the porch without having a person open/close the door. The litter box being on the porch is also a nice change. The porch screen/gate is heavy metal bars and mesh, so we don’t have to worry about cat escaping or anything else getting in.

Nice door but not without flaws
The door is exactly what I wanted. I didn’t want to have to screw things in through my patio door even though I own my home, more esthetic reasons. I love the size of the door and the look of the white perfectly matches my patio door. I have two yorkies and it took one all of 10 minutes with the offering of treats, no problem. The second one, took 2 days. I pushed and prodded with no success. Finally, I left her outside for a while and then went out and pushed her through again. Tried this a few more times, she still didn’t get it. Then after the fourth time, she didn’t like being put outside, she decided to try it and come in!! Yay!! She still was a little hesitant for a while, but finally figured she could get in the yard by herself and would go out all on her own! Success and no further worries. The door is beautiful as stated, color matches perfectly. However it took some doing to get it into my door. It was extremely tight and we had to tilt it alongside the patio door to squeeze it in, I almost thought it wasn’t going to fit. Once we got it in, we slid it up against the side of the and tightened the screws at the top. They don’t tighten enough and any little pressure against the door the door slips and we have to readjust it. If these adjuster would make the top secure against the top of the inside of the frame this door would be perfect. I’m not sure how some heavy rain the heavy wind blowing sideways kind and whether this will hold up and not have any leaking. I’ll have to update later. As far as daily use, it works as it should and adjusting the door slightly here in California weather is not that bad for me to send it back. I love that there was weather stripping included for the patio door as it sealed against the dog door. Also the clear weather stripping on the back side of the patio door since there is no longer that seal, the weatherstripping was easy to put on and stays very well so far (it’s been about a month); only problem is that opening the door this strip does make a little squeaking noise. Nothing I can’t live with for the need of the dog door for me. I love the door that seals the flap when I want the dogs to stay outside for a while, or I don’t want them going outside. Either way, it’s nice to have a way to shut the door for whatever purpose you need. The biggest downside to this door is using the screen door on the patio door. If you want to open your patio door to get some fresh air, you close the screen door, and that will close off the dog access as now your screen blocks it! UGH!!! Biggest headache for me! I get great crosswind from that direction and now if I want air, then the dogs can’t get out, if it’s cold/winter, then no problem as you won’t have the glass door open. Another problem is that I can no longer lock my patio door. There is a lock that comes with in the box, you’ll need to screw into the frame of the patio (something I didn’t want to do). Regardless, we couldn’t figure it out and how it works. So not using it and now looking to cut a piece of wood to stick in the tract to be able to have some sense of security and blocking access to outsiders. Otherwise, I’ve been looking at other options, a piece of wood to put in the track, or purchasing something else to stop access (more $$). So lots of benefits and a few problems. You’ll have to determine if you can live with it. Over time, I’m hoping I can train the dogs to our large dog door through the wall (it’s a double flap, so a little challenging for the little ones), then I can take this one down. As I said, it works for its purpose, but the non-access when using my screen door is the biggest thing I’m not happy with. Have to find a solution for that. The tightness of the screws at the top, not sure thats a defect, seems to work, just not to make it tight enough. The lack of super tightness I can live with, using my screen door is not. So eventually as I said, hoping for success with the other door eventually.
