Sometimes love is closer than you think.
‘I was compelled to race to the end to find out whether Adam and Eve would achieve their happy-ever-after.’ Sunday Times bestselling author, Sue Moorcroft
Eve’s life is a constant juggling act between her successful, but fast-paced, marketing career, complicated friendships, and a revolving door of disastrous dates. But life would be fine . . .
If only her neighbour from two doors down would stop his cat getting into her house!
Adam’s life is on track. He’s a dedicated tutor, has a close-knit group of friends and a steady, long-term relationship. Except his girlfriend is distant, and he’s lost motivation for his job. But life would be fine . . .
If only his neighbour from two doors up would stop her cat getting into his house!
Eve tries to return Adam’s cat, but it becomes clear neither own ‘Old Sausage’. They have been duped by the antics of a stray. Despite his endearing presence in both their houses, he must be returned to his true owner.
As Eve and Adam start their search, they realise they have more in common than they thought, and when both are betrayed by those closest to them — Eve loses her job and Adam’s girlfriend leaves — they find that there’s more to life than just getting by.
And perhaps a new beginning was on their doorstep all along . . .
This opposites-attract, forced proximity, heartwarming rom-com of finding love when you least expect it, is perfect for fans of Rachel Dove, Laura Starkey, Phoebe MacLeod, Portia MacIntosh, Sophie Kinsella and Cressida McLaughlin.

From the Publisher
Hi readers,
I’m Mary, and I’m so glad you’ve discovered my books. I love writing imperfect female protagonists with big hurdles to overcome, because I think we can all relate to feeling like we’re a bit stuck sometimes. I want my readers to feel like they’ve escaped for a while, but also like they’ve seen a little bit of themselves looking back at them from the pages of my books.
Lots of love,
Mary

Very very very slow burn
Spoiler alert!!! The book was well written. However, it seems to be more about Eveâs selfishness and revenge against her friend; not really a love story. They donât even meet until close to the middle of the book and then donât get together until the last couple chapters. Between that timeframe, literally barely speak to each other most of the time. So frustrating!!This was so not heartwarming or uplifting. Eve was a horribly selfish person and Adam was a crying doormat!

Neighbors to Lovers
I enjoyed this cute neighbors to lovers book. The book starts out with the two main characters having their own story. It was nice to read about their day to day life before they suddenly merge into the same timeline and crossing paths with each other. It was a bit refreshing! The tortoise shell cat, Old Sausage brought these two main characters together.Eve – what can I say⦠she was a very selfish person and would do anything to anyone to get her way. FINALLY, towards the endâ¦she is given the hard words needed from friends to self reflect and grow.Adam – one of the nicest most sincerest male characters! I LOVED how would move mountains for his brother Hugh, whom has cerebral palsy ðA laughed a bit at the witty characters. I did feel that the characters were a bit âyoungerâ acting and kept portraying them in the 20âs instead of the stated ages of the 30âs.

More than just a romance!
This book is much more than âboy meets girlâ. Work/life balance, ethics, friendships, family issues and family bonds all enter into the mix . And boy does meet girl! Aside from my initial discomfort with the bigger and bigger hole one of the main characters was digging for herself, the characters were engaging and held my interest. Definitely a thumbs up!

Enjoyable easy read
Nice easy read. Not a rom-com, but still enjoyable albeit a bit unrealistic. Would read this author again.

Okay read
This book was not my cup of tea. Too contrived, and I do hate mean protagonists. I don’t mind da4k, but just outright self centered prigs throw me off. And that’s what Eve was, selfish, self centered and a prig. Adam had some redeeming qualities, good friends, a great brother, and his caring for Old Sausage and his students with learning differences.Overall it was okay.#netgalley #TwoDoorsDown

Loved this book. You often find with books that the love story overshadows the characters, but not with this. Eve was such a unique character and the romance was secondary, which was so refreshing and a good thing!! Loved the writing style and story telling was excellent! Worth the read for sure!

Not my usual type of book but very much enjoyed, not too mushy and very sharp!

Read both books one after the other. Perfectly researched, true to life. Couldn’t quite guess the end but a lovely turn around. Truly enjoyed these books. Have a go!! Worth it.

I took a chance on this book and I am so glad that I did! This book was funny and fresh. I loved the characters, who were more realistic than those often portrayed in similar books, I loved the humour, and I loved the writing style. It’s full of quick wit and funny observations. The storyline was cute, but it wasn’t cute-sy and that is perfect for me. I like my characters real and humour sharp.
