It will rust!
I’m an avid bird feeder.Living outside of the city I am fortunate in that I get many different species. This item brings them closer by sitting right on my deck.The birds like the open feel they get when eating from the dishes and the screen bottom underneath keeps the seeds fresh by allowing air to circulate around the seeds and rain drips right thru. My only criticism is.that after a while the tray begins to rust.

Our railing was just a tad too big for the clamp so we had to do a little bit of DIY and clamped it to some pieces of wood that we attached to the edge of the balcony. The screw for the top part was also a bit rusty so we had to use pliers to tighten it really good… A little bit of work but within minutes of installing the feeder we were rewarded with our first visitors!

I really enjoy feeding the birds; sitting on the deck watching them is one of my happy places! I like to supplement the chickadees normal menu of sunflower seeds with some peanut pieces. I don’t want to put too many out at a time, they’re expensive and the grey squirrels devour them if I do. This feeder allows me to throw out a little handful at a time when the chickadees are around. Because it is attached with threaded pipe, I can unscrew the whole thing to store it, if I ever decide I want to take it down for a season. The finish is well done and it’s survived the winter outside without any sign of weathering. There’s nothing fancy about it, but it works really well and I’m quite happy with it so far!
