Decent flake
This is a decent, middle of the road flake food for fish. It doesn’t have a high protein content so it’s more for omnivorous fish (not bettas), but it’s fine for modt tropical fish. It also crushes easily for smaller fish and doesn’t seem to cloud the water or fall apart when feeding. This is more expensive than regular flake food, though, and the only difference is the brand. Glofish don’t need this food to stay “glowing” and this won’t give them or any other fish more vibrant colors. It’s just normal fish food.

Quality fish food best for small tropical fish
GloFish Special Flake Food for Fish.I’ve been raising tropical fish since I was a child over 50 years ago so I’ve seen my share of fishfoods. I currently have about 500 gallons of tanks set up in the basement with most of that coming from 2 150 gallon tanks and 2 55 gallon tanks. The others are smaller tanks for younger fish and the kids tanks. Plenty of empty tanks too just waiting. The food is in a vacuumed sealed plastic container with a lid that fits on tightly. The foil top is easy to remove and you can hear the swoosh of air when you open that which is a sign of a airtight seal locking in freshness. The food had a date of 09/26 on the bottom of the container so it’s fresh and good for about 2 years. The minimum protein content is 43% which is about 10% lower than the % of the food I typically use but again this is a minimum and still a good amount. The other ingredients are similar. The smell is similar to what you’d expect from fish food. The size is very small compared to the food that I use so best for smaller fish and young ones, definitely not larger cichlids. See my photo comparison of the size of this food to my typical food.Upon feeding, the food floated for ample time for fish to come up and eat it. When eventually sinking it held together and didn’t dissolve so those fish which don’t tend to top feed were happy too. I didn’t notice any clouding of the water. Both live bearing, smaller cichlids and my cory catfish ate the food fine and didn’t reject it.If you’re looking for some quality fish food for smaller fish at a decent price, this is a pretty good one to consider.

Perfect Nutrition for Vibrant GloFish and Tropical Fish
I recently started using the GloFish Special Flake Food for my aquarium, and I am very pleased with the results. This flake food is a fantastic choice for anyone with GloFish or small to mid-sized tropical freshwater fish.Pros:Enhanced Coloration: The food is specially formulated to enhance the natural colors of GloFish. Iâve noticed my fish looking more vibrant and lively since I started using this food.Nutritionally Complete: This flake food provides a balanced diet that meets all the nutritional needs of my fish. It includes essential vitamins and minerals that promote overall health and well-being.Easy to Feed: The flakes are the perfect size for small to mid-sized fish, and they float well, making it easy for the fish to eat. Feeding instructions are straightforwardâjust feed 2 to 3 times daily, only as much as your fish can consume within a minute.Versatile: While optimized for GloFish, this food is also suitable for other tropical community fish, making it a versatile addition to any aquarium.Cons:Price: The price is a bit higher compared to some other fish foods, but the quality and benefits justify the cost.Packaging: The container could be more user-friendly. A resealable lid would help keep the food fresh for longer.Overall, the GloFish Special Flake Food is an excellent product that supports the health and vibrant colors of GloFish and other tropical fish. Itâs a bit of an investment, but the results are well worth it. My fish are happier and healthier, and their colors have never looked better!

Fish friendly flakes
This GloFish flake food is perfect for my fresh water tropical fish. The flake has a nice consistent size so there is little need to break up oversized flakes that I sometimes get in other foods. It seems to float well and gives plenty of time for all my fish to dart to the surface to eat. Any of the flake that doesn’t get consumed at the top will eventually sink to the bottom and become food for my algae eaters. All of my fish seem to tolerate this food well and they are always peppy at feeding time. I’m not sure if this gives more GLOW to the fish, but it is good food and keeps my fish happy. I don’t seem to get any more or less algae buildup in my tank when I use this food. This is a big container of food and will last a long time if you have a small to average size tank.
