Super Bird Creations bird toys designated for small pet birds are suitable for birds including budgies, lovebirds, parakeets, parrotlets, small conures and cockatiels. Even finches and canaries will enjoy toys with shiny bells, swings and preening features.

Playthings with a Purpose!
Instinctively, pet birds are still very much like their wild counterparts. Play is a natural behavior for parrots. Wild parrots have been observed engaging in several different kinds of play including object play, balancing games, play that involves movement, acoustic play and social play with other birds like “chase me” or pretend fighting.
However, in captivity, opportunities to participate in natural activities have been reduced to a bare minimum leaving a lot of “free time” often leading to boredom which in turn has been shown to result in the development of behavioral, mental, and physical health problems.

Great Christmas Gift For Your Bird
My Dusky Conure likes to chew on wooden toys. I bought this for her as an early Christmas present and she really loves it. It’s well made and the colors are bright. Birds needs lots of colorful toys to keep them stimulated and happy – this candy cane toy really does the trick. The bell on the bottom is a nice touch too. I can hear her happily playing with it all day.If you have a pet bird I’d recommend this toy. It’s perfect for a Christmas gift (or any other time). We’ve bought many toys from Super Bird creations and they are always excellent.

My cockatiel demolished the balsa wood portion of the toy in about 4 hours. It’s too expensive to purchase frequently, but since she enjoyed it so much I’ll definitely buy it again.

If this toy was reasonably priced, I would give it 5 stars. But my birds do love chewing on it, so it’s a once a year Christmas treat for them. It is not for heavy chewers who would destroy it quickly. It’s only suited for smaller birds who are not interested in chewing on other woods – parakeets, cockatiels, parrotlets, small conures, ect.My greencheek conure got one for Christmas and has it about half destroyed as of Jan 11.One tip: when it’s all destroyed, go buy a strip of balsa wood at a craft store and cut it into pieces to refill this toy.

NOT made of wood
This product was our birdâs favorite toy when the little red panels were made of actual wood. Recently, he stopped enjoying them, and we were not sure whyâuntil we realized those little red pieces are now made of some strange, foam-like material. Our bird hates it now, and he wonât touch the toy. Such a disappointment!

I bought this toy for my cockatiel, who loves chewing wood. He especially likes this soft balsa wood and will happily attack it. I think that he likes the red color a lot as well!I wish it was a little cheaper, but with how much he loves it I think it’s worth the price.
