Planting your amphibian or reptile enclosure with tropical plants is both visually appealing and a great way to simulate a natural environment for your pet. Plants are great for maintaining humidity and creating a bioactive terrarium.
Plant Varieties
We’ve selected a handful of plants for this kit that are considered basic, easy to care for plants that should thrive in the humid, warm climate of a tropical vivarium.
We cannot promise any specific variety of plants with this special package, however, all plants will come labeled with their names except for bromeliads.
Plant Safety
At Josh’s Frogs, we make sure all our plants are safe for frogs, geckos, lizards and more.
All plants are quarantined and checked for hitch hikers.
Live plants from Josh’s Frogs are treated only with products that are OMRI Listed for use in organic production. Just rinse before planting.

The plants I ordered came excellently packaged and insulated. The plants were obviously grown in excellent conditions given the size of the roots and how well they shipped and planted. They arrived completely green, intact, and healthy.

If youre willing to do some research, go elsewhere
These plants showed up quickly and were in great condition. However:1. All the Biodude videos show him planting plants that are a good 12″ tall. The plants that arrived clocked in at an average of about 3″ tall–MUCH smaller than what is “advertised”.2. The directions were mostly not useful regarding how and where to plant, what the species of plant was, and whether or not the fertilizer in the pot was vivarium safe or not.3. If youre willing to do a bit of research, you can find very nice, suitable plants for your setup at Home Depot. I went there after buying these because they were so small and found several great plants at 1/2 to 1/4 the price of these.Conclusion: If youre ok WITH tiny plants and dont want to put the time into determining specific species that work for you and you just want a quick turn-key solution, then this is fine. If not, theres all kinds of other stuff out there for less money.

use the proper lighting and missed the encloser often
The plants arrived looking very healthy, I was not able to utilize them right away so I set them up in a spare aquarium with a grow light for about a week and kept them well watered. These plants were set up in a Vivarium that I keep two male neon tree dragon lizards in. Before I installed the plants my dragons where too exposed to their surroundings due too the fact that they had decimated the exsisting plants that I set up before. Now they seem much happier as they have many more places to hide in.

Most were nearly dead on arrival.
Most of the plants were nearly dead on arrival and died a couple days later the only ones that were in decent shape and are thriving are the bromeliads and a Fern.

Nice, Healthy Plants
Nice variety. Knocked off a star because it did include the correct number of plants and they were all beautiful but did not include a vining plant as advertised.

Great quality, nice variety!
These came well packaged, wrapped in brown paper and a heat pack. The plants looked great upon arrival. They were all labeled and care instructions were easy to look up on the Josh’s frogs website by searching each one. They look fabulous in my terrarium and the lizards are already exploring them.
