Ernst Grain & Livestock is the 7th generation to farm in Clear Spring, Maryland. This family has been growing crops and making feeds for livestock for years. They are known for Wholesome Harvest, a premium line of Non-GMO feeds with natural supplements. All of these grains are cleaned, milled, mixed, and bagged on the farm with a goal to make the highest quality of all grain feeds on the market.
Farming in Clear Spring, Maryland.
Our farm was purchased in the early 1940’s by Frederick Ernst. It sets one mile east of the original farm that the Ernst family settled in from Germany in the 1800’s. We have raised animals and grown grains for many years in the Cumberland Valley of Washington County.

The farm is currently owned by Steve Ernst. Three of his sons: Josh, Jacob, and Micah are all employed by the business. Working together, the whole family and the team at Ernst Grain & Livestock are able to make these feeds a reality.

Very versatile high quality grain blend
Another great blend by Ernst. I like their grains because theyâre higher quality than any blends I have found anywhere else.These blends can feed a lot of different animals, and not cause problems. I feed the deer this stuff in the winter time, and it doesnât cause any issues. The corn is minimal.This is probably the deers favorite food I have given to them. I have tried many different blends and tried brands from Tractor Supply and TS has some excellent deals and some fair quality foods that the deer can eat, but nothing on the level of this blend.I try to ration it out between cheaper foods that I know likely wonât cause any digestive issues during winter for the deer, just because itâs a bit more pricy than TS stuff.I just know by using this stuff the deer love it best, along with the Ernst Soft Red Wheat that comes in 50 pound bags. Itâs excellent, despite only being one grain it is a favorite of the deer and other critters.

I order this one and the all corn and the deer LOVE it. The deer and myself much prefer this brand than others I’ve tried especially the deer attract feed. This feed attracts more deer than the “attract feed” you can buy, it’s better value, more quality food, more in a bag, and better all around. For the first three years we moved here, we’ve had quite a number of deer around so whether we feed them or not, they come by but now we’re getting the entire family in one go which is such a wonderful interaction. They will wait for me to come out in the evening and while they are weary, they are much more comfortable with only stepping to the side until I’m done. It’s quite honestly the most wonderful experience to have! And I never got to this point without the feed, plus they tend to leave my plants alone when I have this out so that’s a bonus I didn’t intend! It also is eaten up by the birds and squirrels so it’s great for the wildlife in general. Especially because there’s no fillers, it’s just good quality feed! I can’t say how much I detest the “attract deer” food just after trying one bag. The smell alone is gross but I will say this company sells the “deer attract” feed and I’d be willing to bet it’s 100 times better than the brand I got just based on my orders of their other two bags. So if you’re wanting to feed the wildlife – I can’t recommend this company more. I’ve never had a bad bag, I’ve never had a broken bag, I’ve never had a single thing wrong with any of the 9 orders I’ve made (and I just placed another order for two more bags today). I usually get both their all corn one and this one but this one with the different seeds is the way to go especially if money is a concern! Happy feeding!

Awesome Feed
Upon opening feed I could actually smell how fresh this feed was. My quail are very picky and they absolutely love it! Will be my go too feed from now on and will be purchasing all my feed from this company.

It attracts the local wildlife
It attracts local wildlife. Rather than carrying the large bag, , I use a pail to distribute the food. The birds and our other critters which wander through the forest behind the house gobble it down . We use wildlife cameras and we have many pictures of the animals enjoying the food. We enjoy checking the the cameras to see what has wandered through the area. Deer eat the biggest portion but the squirrels and chipmunks and a raccoon also stop by. We enjoy watching the parade..

The deer love this! I ordered this deer feed online because I was out of the deer feed I normally get locally from a guy, but he’s been getting creepy around me, so I wanted to sever that business relationship. I noticed that the Ernst Grain was similar to what I was feeding my deer, so I gave it a try. Very fast shipping, which I appreciate since I always wait until the last moment to order. I’m in Wisconsin, and it only takes 2 days to reach me. I highly recommend this deer feed and this business.

I loved the amount for the price, but the last bag I got was infested with grain beetles! They made the trek all the way into my walls from my garage. Took months for them to die off and they kept popping up all over the house, all the way up to my upstairs bathroom!If you are going to buy one, keep it in a container outside, for the love of pete.
