DON’T MICROWAVE
So the most important thing is don’t use these plates in a microwave! The gold trim around the edge is actually metallic and not just paint and it will spark intensely in the microwave and catch the paper plate on fire in under 20 seconds.Aside from that, these are basic paper plates with a colorful design on them. They are neither thick nor particularly sturdy but are fine for your typical party fare. I wouldn’t put anything particularly heavy on them unless you double them up or put a real plate underneath them.

Super cute party plates
I think these plates are adorable. Very cute picture on them and nice metallic gold edging. Theyâre not heavy duty by any means, but I think they would work fine for cake and hopefully a little ice cream, too! ð They do seem a little light, but I wonât be trying them out for a few weeks yet. I always try to remember to come back and update my reviews, but no promises. lol

Small size; cannot be microwaved
Overall, these paper plates are cute and the design looks as pictured. They are the standard thickness of a patterned paper plate. Taking off one star though for a couple reasons. First, they are much smaller in size than I expected. I included a photo of them next to a standard sized scissors for reference. Second, the outer rim of the plates is a metallic material, so these CANNOT be microwaved. So just be aware of that when ordering.
