I have this along with my normal filter and so far itâs working great. it pumps out a good amount of water and seems to be doing the trick! i needed a secondary filter in my 40 gallon aquarium and this one is perfect. great price too. definitely recommend

A wonderful and inexpensive product
Used this product for my 10 gallon betta tank. Filtration level is perfect. I love that it has an adjustable output so that the filter can be placed in the tank wherever it is most convenient. I also enjoy that you only have to clean one sponge at a time. This is so much more efficient that the traditional hang on back filters with cartridges. I will be buying more of these in the future. You will need to buy your own air pump and airline for this filter to work. Otherwise, it’s a wonderful and inexpensive product.

Pumps out a surprising amount of water
I honestly did not expect a filter powered by my aquarium pump to be able to lift this much water out, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it could really do some work. The air supply I have it hooked up to isn’t even that powerful. Just a 20 gallon pump I bought for $9.39 here on Amazon (The tera whisper 20 gallon). The water seems clean thus far and the fish are happy with it. Most importantly, it is far quieter than the traditional pump I was using, which is important for a bedroom aquarium.

Best sponge filters on the market
I breed aquarium shrimp and these filters are perfect. I set the output right at water level to keep the surface agitated. The shrimp love eating on bacteria that form on the sponge. The sponges slide off easily during cleaning when Iâm doing tank maintenance. To clean, just squeeze the sponges a few times in a bucket of tank water and replace. Easy peasy!

It works and its cheap.
It works, suction holds it in place , the sponge filters the water i feel like the sponge might be too fine or too cheap, but i feel like i could have more flow through it but it does work i have had piece’s of food stick to it i also have shrimp in the tank and i have seen them graze on it a couple times.
