    Excellent Betta Grubb! 🙂 A+
I have bought & tried much of the other stuff out there, but these lil’ pellets DEFINITELY ‘take the cake’ in regard to high quality and palatability (the fish really seem like the taste of this stuff!) as far as excellent fishie food goes! :)PROS:1) Taste & appearance: My Bettas (as well as the rest of my fish, unfortunately!) absolutely LOVE the taste of these pellets, and will easily choose this stuff first before eating flakes or any other types of pellets whatsoever…actually, my Betta will literally refuse to eat some other brands of pellets out there, unless there is absolutely nothing else left for him to eat! :oIt also seems to me that Hikari has truly used their expertise & research to create a very high quality food that obviously tastes good for the fish, and although I don’t honestly know for sure, but appear to leave out a lot of unnecessary amounts of food coloring & useless additives I tend to see more of in other brands of food…Hikari’s food really looks more ‘normal’ to me, like food should, not neon orange, fire engine red, etc…I realize the dyes are added to ‘enhance’ the colors of the fish, but sometimes i wonder if the fancy colors & hype marketing are really be there for OUR amusement instead!:P Hmmm…Oh, and as far as adding MSG comments go, it is NOT an included ingredient in the newer batches of food, so Hikari must have listened & rethought their recipe choices for the pellets!…Maybe adding MSG is just an Oriental thing, you know, like when you order sweet&sour chicken from the Chinese restaurant, it just goes w/ the territory right!…can’t imagine the Bettas really care if their food is salty or not though! ;)2) The stuff actually FLOATS!…and for a very long time! 😉 Long enough to gain some moisture so the fish can actually ‘chew it up’ and enjoy the food…honestly, the other brands i have tried do not float AT ALL, they just sink to the bottom within a few seconds, and let me tell you, Bettas are PICKY eaters!…once the food drops, my Betta Casper (hes completely white like an albino, no kidding!) says, ‘Not touchin’ it…there’s more where that came from!’ & then I have to add NEW pellets for him to nose around the tank, Lol! :)CONS:1) Honestly there are no cons to mention regarding the actual quality or performance of this product, other than the fact that the Bettas (and other fishies!) eat this stuff WAAY too fast, and in a whole lot more quantity than the ‘usual’ recommended ‘one or two pellets twice a day’ stuff!…Yeah right!? my Casper can kill maybe 9-12 of these pellets TWICE a day, not to mention the stray pellets stolen by all his other SEVEN! pals in the tank!2) I suppose the only gripe I might have is the fact that this food comes at a premium above the cost for ‘average’ Betta food…not that its going to totally break you, its a few bucks for quite a bit of food that will last some time after all…but as a comparison, at your local ‘Big Chain’ stores, you can usually only find the tiny 2.5 gram dispensers of this stuff for quite a premium, around three bux or so, when you could literally buy the ‘other’ brand for almost the same money and get a little better than an ounce (28 grams!), basically over 10x times the amount of food for the same price! Ouch! :oCONCLUSION!:All in all, I am willing to spend a couple x-tra dollars on a product I believe to have been developed with some conscious thought & care involved for the actual benefit of the animals for which they were designed…and the fact that they really dig the taste makes me happy too!…Good Job Hikari!Cheers! 🙂

Great Food But Ditch The Package
My betta eats this food and loves it. It’s made with good ingredients like grill and wheat and vitamins good for bettas. It’s not the best quality ingredients on the market but it’s very high on the list and really is quality food. The bag is a problem. I cut it open and store the food in an airtight tupperware for sauces that’s small because this can pour way too much food despite being designed to make feeding easy, supposedly.Great food and worth paying extra for but ditch the packaging.

After several food options, the fishies seem happiest with this one
Currently the description of these pellets is incorrect. It now says .07 ounces but what you are actually getting is .70 oz (or 20 grams) in a convenient to pour and seal pouch. This is a great value and practical for me as I have four betta tanks. The smaller size product is good for one fish and will last forever but with four, I go through those ones very quickly and I prefer this packaging that actually closes to keep product fresh.I’ve tried a number of different options for food with my betta with varying results. The Hikari Bio-Gold floating pellet satisfies all my fish equally. The pellet is the perfect size as it’s easy to consume for all fish. I have a larger sinking pellet that a couple of my fish like but the others seem to have difficulty or are not able to swallow them at all. My opinion is you cannot go wrong with this as 4 out of 4 fish in my home agree. It is also best in my selection for color enhancing and wins hands down over Xtreme and Tetra brands. I will continue to buy this product as a staple while rotating in other food options based on individual preferences of each fish.

Best Food, Lowest Price, Cleanest Tank…loves them after getting used to them.
I did a lot of research before buying Hakari Betta Bio-Gold. Frankly…..there are more opinions than actual research, so I am providing my beta with several rotating foods….this is my favorite. He loves fresh frozen bloodworms…my guess is that is what he grew up on. He also loves the highly rated Tetra Betamin flakes…but it is very difficult to feed the right amount so a lot drifts to the bottom. They say a betta’s stomach is about as big as one eye…but the flakes are flat…so how many would fill up an eye?Harkari Betta Bio-Gold pellets are easy to feed – 3 to 4 per feeding, twice a day. They are manufactured in Japan. My “Best By” date was over 2 years from my DOP. The current price (as a Prime Add On item) for .7 ounces is almost the same as a single .088 ounce card. He will never finish this unless I get more Bettas.NOTE: the first several days he would grab a pellet and then spit about 50% of them out. So I watched him and made sure he finished 3 per feeding. This is normal for new foods. After several days he now knows they are yummy and eats every pellet right away. They float, no waste, and easy to dose. I carefully pour a few into my palm…and then put the excess back in the pouch. I am very pleased…and so is he. He attacks them more vigorously than the flakes…almost as fast as the bloodworms.

Hikari Bio-Gold is one of the best betta foods available, providing excellent nutrition for vibrant colors and overall health. My betta absolutely loves these pellets, and they are highly palatable with no waste left behind. The floating pellets make feeding easy and natural, preventing unnecessary mess in the tank. I’ve noticed significant improvement in my betta’s activity, growth, and immunity since switching to Hikari Bio-Gold. Plus, it keeps the water clean without clouding—definitely a must-have for betta owners!

I purchased the product because the maker, Hikari, is known for the high quality fish foods that they produce. The goldfish staple was a top recommendation of my Aquarium Club, and the goldfish since eating it, are not only extremely healthy and brighter in colour, but they act like little piranha when it’s time to eat, so obviously they love it! I bought this in hopes that our Betta, who has been here a few weeks and didn’t seem interested in much, and wasn’t eating the food recommended by the breeder (a well known flaked food for Betta). Well, I was somewhat shocked when I first put some in his tank – he went nuts for it! Ate all 5 pieces I had put in quickly and was looking for more! He’s only been eating it now for a few days, but now comes to the top of the tank as soon as he sees I have the bag out and eats everything given to him in minutes. Today we noticed that he is more irridecent and more active and an obviously happy betta – he’s making a bubble nest today something he was not doing at all previously! Although some commented on the “difficulty” of the package, the trick is to not “pour it out”, but rather, open it, hold sideways and give it a little tap, only a few pieces will come out. They are extremely small (which is what a betta needs), and you can put them right back into the pack by using a small piece of paper wrapped into funnel shape and just drop them down in if you take out too much. I highly recommend this food.

My betta loves this food. All pieces are the same size (small and digestible) and they float for a good long time, giving my betta time to hunt and eat. In fact, since feeding this food (and the bloodworms) to my betta, his fins are looking healthier and he seems much happier. Highly recommended.
