I ordered this to help fill a moss pole for a Monstera. This package is no where near enough for a moss pole, but I’m adding it to some packages that I already have. It comes in a sealed plastic package and is ready to use — it isn’t compressed. It looks exactly as this type of moss should look. This is also good stuff to use on the top of orchid pots and other plants as well.

This is definitely natural as you can smell as soon as you open the bag. I was able to spread a handful into a large pot and think I could do 3 or so with this bag. Perfect to help hold moisture and my orchid loves it. Visually pleasing as well. Happy with this find.
