So far so good
I read multiple reviews before purchasing. I did do the dryer process before using and had zero issues with the creases coming out. This is a quality thick product. I appreciate the darkness of the screen so that we can leave the glass door open and still maintain a little privacy. I even put on a doggy door for a screen door in this screen and it is still holding strong.

Great “Pet Proof” screen
This screen has held up well. I bought some almost a decade ago and recently followed up to use in another set of doors. Great product.Be sure to not set it too tight in the middle of a tall door. It will pull the frame inward and then the door will not sit correctly in the frame.

Creases come out!!!
The screen material was purchased for a porch. Material is well made and much easier to work with than traditional screen. Yes people have complained that the screen comes folded with creases, But…put it in the dryer on low for 10 minutes larger pieces may need a second 10 minute interval. Yes it works..Then just lay it out somewhere to relax overnight…installing this…don’t waste your time with a hand stapler or electric stapler, it will not set staple deep and flush. I bought a $34 pneumatic stapler ( arrowhead) set on 90 psi…worked perfect and fast…Another con is I purchased several different sizes and they don’t list size on each individual package. As far as durability of screen only time will tell.

No more tears, rips or holes
This is fantastic! Our lovely screen porch looked so horrible due to our outdoor cats. While this doesnât allow for the same visibility because itâs thicker, itâs so worth it! Only giving 4 starts because itâs folded instead of in a roll which makes creases and a bit more effort when putting up.

heavy duty pet screen looks and works great
This item was used to replace the mesh on a sliding glass door screen door. My cat shredded the standard screen mesh .. allowing flies to get in the house. This screen is much more robust than standard. The installation instruction to first pre-crease the screen using the convex end of screen tool helped tremendously .. I did this for the entire frame groove perimeter .. prior to the next step of rolling the spline into the groove. The pre-crease step pre-formed the screen .. minimizing excessive shape distortion as the spline is installed. Reminder to get the correct spline diameter .. as this screen is thicker than standard screen .. and so, a smaller spline diameter is needed .. 0.125 inch diameter spline worked well for my screen door (Marvin Integrity).

Very Thick – Did not rip during installation
While I think the âpet-proofâ claim on any screen is ridiculous, this screen truly is a step above the replacement screens in most screen replacement kits. After two screen replacement kits failed me by ripping during installation (one from Loweâs and the other from Amazon), this screen actually finished the job. Itâs 2-3 times thicker than most and holds its shape quite well. While the folds are annoying, theyâre 100% understandable for shipping purposes. Would recommend for anyone looking for a âhigh-qualityâ or âheavy-weightâ screen replacement. Just may not be pet proof.

DIY Win! *Update #3*
Update 9/19/21: itâs been almost four months and this screen is worth every penny. (See second photo.) My dogs still âpawâ the screen and there were three spots where the mesh shifted but did not tear. I was playing with those spots today and ran my fingernail over them and the mesh returned to its original position! As you can see, the screen looks flawless. My 120 lb baby girl even stood on her back legs and put her front paws on the screen to get in because she was excited to see someone. The screen withstood that too!Update: Six weeks later and it looks as good as the day I installed it. The Danes always âpawâ it to go in and out and the screen has withstood that just fine.Original review: We paid the local hardware store $80 and waited a week for our last screen replacement. I did this replacement with the help of my daughter (she kept tension on the material as I secured it) in probably just over an hour.We have two Great Danes so itâs nice to know I can replace the screen again if needed myself. Not a difficult project, I watched one YouTube video by âSeeJaneDrillâ and off I went! I did purchase the tool and new spline but I ended up using the original spline again.Update 1+ years later: female Great Dane decided to bust through the screen door for whatever reason. The screen stayed intact but the door itself broke. We repaired the door and we are as good as new. For the screen not to have given out when she blasted through says a lot.

Cat proof window screen
We got few months ago two cats (adult and kitten) and our old screen door just could not take them. I bought this and boy am I happy I did. Now the cats can lean on it – and even climb on it!The screen comes folded (not rolled) so it does have quite some creases in it. Be aware of that! I did not do any special trick like low heat dryer run or hair dryer. Mine straightened up pretty nicely just when I put it on.The screen is thick and therefore takes some extra finger strength when handled. You need to use the thinner 0.120″ spline (not 0.125″ or you will loose your mind – I went that route first…). Also do yourself a favor and get one of those spline replacement tools that you can use to roll the spline into the screen door cracks. With correct size spline and the spline replacement tool it’s quite easy job to do. And seems to be cat proof – not a single hole yet!

My male cat likes to think that he is an outdoor cat. When we moved into our first home this past fall, the kitchen window leads you onto the back patio. He took this opportunity to break out of the house while I was away. I did not even notice for like 2 hours! Sneaky devil. He’s not very smart, because once I found him and brought him home he immediately went to try to escape again, showing me what he did to the screen. So now he lost the open window, and both cats where sad. But it was a beautiful fall and I did not like that I had to have the window closed. It provided a great breeze. So I took to the internet to see if someone had made a cat proof sceen. They did! So to Amazon I went to see if I could buy some here. Success. Arrived quickly and was super easy to install. Product does not come with window installation items, but I had purchased other screen material for the upstairs rooms that did not need to be cat proof. This honestly is the best money I have EVER spent in my entire life. And I have a bit of problem. My cats are super mad at me because they can not escape the house anymore. No matter how much he tries, he can not make a hole in the screen. I am hopeful that I have enough left over to do the patio door screen. If not, I will be buying some more so that I can enjoy the patio without those monsters getting free. Now they sit in the window sad and stare at me while I’m BBQing.

My cat sat and scowled at her new challenge. She attempted to claw it, perhaps to spite me or to catch a bug, but either way the screen held strong!

We are trying this product to see if it will stop the dog from going right through it….So far, so good. Only time will tell us about the durability. The black colour of the mesh might help the dog recognize that the screen door is closed.
