My baby crested gecko loves it
We have two baby crested geckos in separate enclosures. I know they don’t *need* heat in the same way as desert lizards, but since it’s winter and I keep my house cooler, I thought they needed some heat to keep it ~72-74.
For the first one, I bought one of the sticky heat pads to attach to the underside or side wall of the tank. Kept coming unstuck and would be lying on the table beneath the tank. No bueno.
So I got this bulb hood instead. It’s large so can definitely grow with the tanks. I’m using it on the larger of my two tanks (which is still only a 10 gal, since they’re babies), but wanted to be careful to have a cooler area and a warmer one.
Can be used with your standard variety of tank bulks from red emitters to UV to heat emitters. I’m using ceramic (no light) heat emitters in mine and it works great. Doesn’t get too hot.
Has hooks on top so it could be hung with an arm at some distance above a tank. I just have it sitting on the mesh tank lid and for the past ~month it’s been great. Baby Gigi is very happy with it.

Great Reptile Lamp
Great Lamp Works perfectly, it can be used for several things, not just reptiles, it is very good.

A lot smaller than I pictured
I like the compact style because it doesnât take up a lot of space however I feel the bulb and wattage size should be less than what they recommend. This thing gets EXTREMELY hot. So when I use it I have to turn the ceramic heat off during the day when I run the UVA/UVB light. And at night I just run the ceramic heat. Itâs working great and Iâve seen a noticeable change in my leopards so Iâm pleased.

One happy turtle
I love this lamp can have 2 bulbs and has separate switches to turn them on/off. Using this for a red eared slider who loves to basket under the lamp. The size is not too big and fits the top of the tank without hanging off. It says it can hold bulbs up to 100W per socket but I would assume it would get REALLY hot. We have lower watt bulbs and it does get warm, but not too hot to touch. Easy to set up and seems to do the job.

Love the double switches!
I love the idea of this two-in-one fixture, as I don’t have a ton of space for two light fixtures. So far this one is working out well.
It arrived in a couple of pieces that need to be snapped together, then the hangers installed. Very quick and easy.
The overall build seems good and I like that the sockets are ceramic and not plastic. I have an incandescent heat bulb in the one side and an LED UV bulb in the other. It’s suspended over the turtles’ basking area. They seem to enjoy laying under it.
The other feature I really like are the two independent switches. That makes this so much easier. The turtle tank is in the south-facing family room, so the daytime temps can get into the 80s inside their open-top tank. The dual switches allow me to turn off the heat lamp if it’s warm in there.
A great idea for a space that is limited on room.

Works as intended and a more neat looking appearance
I use these style dual fixtures since i keep numerous species of tree frogs that range all over the spectrum for environmental needs. Some need higher humidity with more UV, some just need higher heat, some need a little heat, ect. But having the dual set up makes it nice since I don’t have two separate factures on top of my tanks and thus, creating amore cluttered look. I know some people probably don’t care about things like that but sometimes paying attention to all details can really turn your terrariums into works of art by paying attention to those small details. 160w output is nice since most of my setups are not big enough to need a larger heat source. and running either a LED light or a UV bulb in parallel keeps things neat. switch’s have good feel to them and function correctly. I always push for people to run these when at expos and when talking about set ups.

Good investment.
It seems to be good for the price of it. I like the two different switches to control the amount of light coming through more than anything. It is a thin metal like others have said but I donât mind it really. Itâs not flimsy or anything. Itâs pretty big and I like that itâs square, I donât like the round lamps I couldnât even tell you why. So I like this oneâs design better.

Great Lamp, Well Made, Sturdy
We have had a leopard gecko for eight years now. He’s become a quiet but significant part of our lives, and our cats spend literally hours hanging around his aquarium, wishing they could take him out. We have upgraded his habitat several times over the years but somehow kept the lamp from the original setup. I mean, until two of our cats who were waiting to eat the lizard got into a fistfight on top of him and sent that lamp shattering against the floor. In came this one, and we couldn’t be happier. The lamp is made more sturdily than the old one. It has two lights and two cords that control each, making switching from night to day simple. It does the job we need it to do and keeps our lizard happy. With some luck, it’ll turn out to be cat-proof, too.
