What a surprise, well made in the USA (Pelham, AL just down the hwy from me) product and worth every penny. I use it as a cat excluder, keeping our bedroom door open to facilitate ventilation. Now, I donât have to build the Berlin Wall every night to keep the fur balls out and off the bed.I did not use the 3M VHB adhesive included as it can be a bear to remove. Instead, I used 3M Command adhesive tabs that donât damage the finish of walls or any surface for that matter. I did clean the application area with alcohol before sticking them on. Iâve had great results with them over the years. I wish the foam wedge was a bit bigger but you can move it to the top of the door and nearer to the hinges to increase open space. Just a minor issue along with the adhesive. Otherwise, this is a near perfect product that I am very satisfied with. Thatâs saying a lot coming from me. Skip the foreign knock offs and buy the real thing and keep jobs at home.

I have been using a metal type door mechanism that let the cats in and kept the dogs out (and toddler). The metal one was a pain! Constantly bending, often bumping into it on the way out, which caused annoyance and sometimes hurt.Buying this Door Buddy was the perfect answer to ease of use and a secure room. I was so impressed I ordered two more last night (I waited until I tried this one) and will be securing other rooms. It is so easy to enter a room, you just lift up on the strap lock (zero effort) and slide it back in place to lock it behind you. When not being used, the door opens and latches as before, unlike with the metal cat door latch I was using before.I highly recommend this.

Once upon a time, we had a sleek, black, agile house panther (cat). He roamed the house like a king and was fed properly so he didn’t grow large and lazy. After a time a prince was born, then a princess. These two wonderful, caring children found out about the limiting of food to the house panther. Secretly outraged, they vowed they’d rectify this injustice. Every lock before them was conquered. Every step to thwart them failed. Then, a day came and we found this device! It promised to keep children out but let the panther in and protect the very fingers previously used to enter the cats domain! What joy! Soon this device arrived and it was installed per the simple instructions it came with. For sure it protected the childrens fingers, expertly! However, due to the prince and princesses ongoing campaign to right the food injustice, and our failure to measure the width of the now rather large feline that loafed about, the size of the gap required to let the panther in was now large enough that a small two year old princess could just squeeze through. This device is well made, adheres as it should, and did it’s job. Alas, in the end we were unable to use it.

Much more durable than anticipated!
I got this as a way to keep my unusually big and strong toddler from opening a door and getting into my valuable collections. At first, I tried using the door knob covers, but he quickly figured that out. I really didnât want to change the door knobs to ones with locks, so Iâm glad I ended up trying this one out! The instructions list different ways to install it depending on which side your door opens, and also depending on how strong you need it to be. I recommend installing it the stronger way, as it has worked VERY WELL for us. Itâs super easy to install and you donât need to drill any holes – it literally just uses the 3M mounting tape (if thatâs what itâs called). Anyways I just wanted to let yâall know that it is durable, cause I had my doubts at first! Definitely give it a try! Itâs inexpensive and actually works! Yay!

Didn’t work for my toddler
I have a 3 year old and even on the shortest setting he could still wiggle through the door space and popped it off the door easily despite my making sure I put it on in the “strongest” configuration. I don’t think this works for what it’s intended for because even if it stayed on under any amount of stress, if my large for age 3 year old could fit through, any small child could. Maybe if I had chosen the “weaker” method, both pieces on the front side of the door, the gap could’ve been smaller, but as it ripped the top layer of stain off my rental door and door frame, I’m not going to waste the money to try.

This is a fantastic product, I fitted as per instructions and not my cat can go into the utility room to eat and use her litter tray but the dog cannot get in. The stopper prevents the door from closing and the strap length can be adjusted. This saves us from having to cut a hole in the do of for the Traditional cat flap.
