After Finding a Home, This Husky Was Rejected All Over Again

However, Guy’s happiness was tragically short-lived. Only a few short weeks after going to his new home, the family decided to bring him back. Their reason was heartbreakingly simple. They said they were afraid of him and ultimately did not like him. Guy, who had so much love to give, once again found himself alone and confused, wondering what he had done wrong.

What made the situation even more painful was that there had originally been two families interested in adopting Guy. The rescue team had chosen the wrong family for him.

In an emotional post shared on Instagram, the rescue explained, “I had two applicants for Guy and I initially chose the wrong family. I adopted him last week and he just did not fit in. I called the other applicant, apologized, and he was devastated.”

Determined to correct their mistake, the rescue immediately contacted the other applicant, a kind-hearted man named Abraham. They explained what had happened and hoped he was still willing to welcome Guy into his life. To their immense relief, Abraham had not changed his mind. He was still eager and excited to adopt Guy.

When Abraham and Guy finally met, it was as if they had been waiting for each other all along. Their bond was immediate and undeniable. It quickly became clear that Guy’s return to the shelter had actually been a blessing in disguise. He had not just found a home. He had found a soulmate.

Abraham and Guy began their journey together that very day, driving off toward a future filled with love, happiness, and endless adventures. For the first time in a long while, Guy could truly feel that he was exactly where he was meant to be.

Guy’s story becomes even more inspiring when you consider the hardships he overcame to reach this point. Before arriving at West Coast Cane Corso Rescue, Guy lived through unimaginable cruelty and neglect.

His original owners had surrendered him to a high-euthanasia shelter, where dogs faced a grim and uncertain future. From there, he was taken to a poorly managed rescue hidden deep within the woods of Northern California. Alongside more than thirty other Huskies, Guy endured months of suffering under appalling conditions.

The abuse he faced could have easily broken his spirit. Yet somehow, Guy’s heart remained open and full of trust. In October 2024, compassionate rescuers intervened and finally brought Guy and the other Huskies to safety.

Despite his past, Guy displayed exceptional behavior from the very beginning. He never showed signs of aggression or fear. Instead, he embraced the world with resilience and grace.
