Discolors water but cleared up my fin rot!
This is the only product so far that has helped to clear up the fin rot in my community tropical fish tank. I tried several other antibiotics and antifungals and my water parameters were all perfectly fine and could not get it to go away. The medication is doxycycline which is a broad spectrum antibiotic so you have a good chance of it working against whatever bacterial agent is causing disease in your tank. I have noticed the fins of my fish already growing back and looking significantly better.
The things I did not like about this product is that it severely discolors the water to the point where it looked like red wine by the last day of treatment and you can barely see through it. It said on the box that it would cause a slight discoloration of the water but I did not expect it to be so extreme. I also needed to use a net to scoop off the foam because it was very thick and frothy (think like foam on a latte but grosser and purple) several times a day. I just did my final water change and put in some activated carbon to hopefully remove the color. My tank is a 60 gallon so it also takes a lot of this product to complete the dosing (it’s one packet per gallon and you treat a total of 4 times) so it’s a bit pricey but I’d still say it’s worth it.
Otherwise, I’ve been battling with this fin rot for about a month now and have finally gotten it under control so I’d consider that a success even if it was kinda gross looking and a pain in the butt.

Seems to be working, but it’s a lot of after care involved.
I bought the 2 pack with 10 packets in each box. Each packet treats 10 gallons of water. I bought this to use in my 55 gallon tank since one of my fish was showing symptoms of fin rot in its tail. This treatment will turn your water pink. It also creates a film of foam that will leave residue on the lid and sides of the tank. My live plants did not really tolerate this treatment well as several leaves turned yellow and needed to be removed. I did notice the fish react when I initially added this to the tank. They swam away from it, and when it spread, you could see that they were having trouble adjusting as they were breathing harder and swimming erratically the first couple days. My snail didn’t seem to like it either; I noticed he released his suction from the top side of the tank fell on his back in the gravel after adding the second dose. It is suggested to remove activated carbon during the treatment process, and then when the treatment is finished, do one final 25% water change and then add fresh activated carbon to remove the rest of the pink water. After 24 hrs with the fresh activated carbon added, the water is still pink, which I am guessing will gradually fade with each water change. So far, the fish’s tail looks to be improving. I am happy that the treatment seems to be working, but it does require a lot of maintenance. You’ll need to clean off the foam residue after each water change, and you’ll need to clean the filter out as well when adding the fresh activated carbon back. I would suggest doing this treatment in advance when you are certain you will be home for a few days since it is a total of 4 doses that will need to be done every 24 hrs as well as 2 water changes in between every other dose. Besides my plants, none of my livestock died. I would suggest looking into other treatment methods before trying this one.

Not effective & Crashed my cycle.
The product description clearly states that it will not harm beneficial bacteria. That is a falsehood it totally crashed my cycle and now I have ammonia issues that need to be addressed. And also severely discolored my water and made it cloudy. There was no improvement with the fish as well. Try a different product.

Not sure what’s to say.
It is what it is. Medication for fish. I use it to make medicated food for my koi if there’s an issue. It seems to work. Usually I do a 7 day regime. They’re always fine after that. I cant really say how well it works as directed for a tank. It probably does.

Shipped very quickly in 2 days and worked well in resolving my fish issues.
Item shipped very quickly with their standard shipping (in 2 days). I was able to continue treatment of my fish without missing a dose.

Poor quality control and also ineffective
Bought this to try to combat fin rot in my tank. The first box I opened, 5 of the 10 packets were completely empty. Not like they emptied out in the box from a tear in the packaging but they were sealed and boxed by the manufacturer with nothing in them (see my video opening one of them). I was left with 15/20. I used the product according to the instructions (I have a 36 gallon tank so I used 3 packets for each cycle, a total of 12 over a 4 day period) but not only did it not work to clear the fin rot but my tank water has been brown and murky ever since and the filter plus water changes hasn’t helped. Very disappointed with this product and will not be buying again. Since I used 12/20 of the packets I don’t have anything to actually “return” for a refund. Boo.
