It feels and looks low quality.. –
Very Nice
Solid little tank. It came packaged really well. It also came with aleverything we needed to get started. It’s been a year with this tank and our Betta loves it. The filter is nice and quiet, too.

Great glass tank starter set
This is a great starter tank set. Unlike a lot of the starter sets, it doesnât come with built-in filters and accessories which can be more of a hinderance than help especially when you need to upgrade accessories. Things to think about:
1. Glass tank â I prefer glass as it doesnât scratch as easily, and I have a better view of my fish.
2. Comes with a filter â Tetra is a well-known brand and itâs both mechanical and chemical (carbon) filter. These work better for me than the sponge filters using an air pump.
3. Lid is freely moveable. This is especially helpful when cleaning and working in the tank. Iâve had other start sets, and the lids were permanently attached making it more difficult for me to work inside the tank.
4. GloFish light â works perfectly with tank and can make fish and decorations pop if you go with GloFish accessories.
5. Started supplies included â stick on thermometer, sample water condition and food to get you started
6. 6.6 gallon size â this is the perfect size. Not too small and not too big. I wanted something small enough I could enjoy the fish but nothing that was too big it became work to keep up the maintenance.
7. Nice to haves but not deal breakers â attachment for the lid. The lid completely removes but thereâs no attachment to keep the lip upright. Would have been nice to be able to open the lid yet have it still attached. Not a deal breaker, just a nice to have.
I like this starter kit. It gives me the basic setup and I still have flexibility to upgrade things as needed. It comes with a stick-on thermometer but no heater. Not an issue for me since I have a heater preference. If you want something basic that gives you room to upgrade as you need, this is nice set. Highly recommend!

Good for beginners
Great starter aquarium- it has ‘everything you need’ sans substrate, water, and well, something living to put inside. The filter it comes with is okay, and for a person looking to get into the hobby or for a betta tank this suits just fine. It looks good and has a light weight to it as well- so thus, not exactly HQ glass. Overall, a great starter tank for a betta.

Awesome fish tank set for your kids or a small apartment.
My daughter loves the glo fish kit. It was really inexpensive to add some additional items that go with the tank set, but pretty much everything you need is included. Itâs a perfect size for a beginner tank, the lights have great functionality, and it looks super cool. There were no leaks at all in the tank as it should be.
Overall I highly recommend this set for your self or itâs perfect for a kids first tank.

A great starter kit for any aquarium enthusiast
GloFish is a well-known brand in the aquarium industry, so you will be getting a great quality kit here. It includes pretty much everything except for substrate and decor, but those can be bought from your local aquarium store. This particular kit is cool because it’s tailored for GloFish species and decor; as it makes them glow! So this will be a fun kit for the kiddos too. I do recommend performing a leak test by filling your tank with water and letting it sit overnight on something to detect leaks like a piece of cardboard. Then if everything checks out, empty and refill on a nice stand to be the center of attention! With that being said, this is a great value for everything you get; as it takes the headache away from doing it all separately, and it’s cheaper that way too.

High hopes but disappointed. Filter is SOOOO loud.
I was super excited to get this tank set up for my daughter. She’s 6 and has been hounding me forever to get some glofish for our 75 gallon planted tank in the living room. Needless to say I was never a fan of that idea. When I found this small kit I thought it would be perfect to set up her own tank in her bedroom with the Glofish she wanted and some garish rainbow gravel that all kids that age like. Unfortunately it has been a bit of a let down.
Let’s start with the positives though: the tank itself is quite nice. The glass is clear, the edges meet well and the silicone is clean without any drips. Secondly, this thing is packaged incredibly well. I doubt even the most dissatisfied Amazon driver could break the tank given how well packaged it was.
The negatives. The biggest negative by far is the filter is INCREDIBLY loud. It clicks the whole time it runs. It is so loud I’m pretty sure it has to be defective actually so maybe yours won’t be so bad. Mine will have to be replaced as it will never work in a bedroom. Considering this is an internal filter and the pump is submerged it really has to be a super loud pump. The second thing I don’t like is the light. It doesn’t sit on the canopy or above the tank as most lights do. You clip it to the inside of the rim and it projects into the tank. They then give you more clips to clip the cord to the inside of the tank rim around to the back (the instructions state to clip the light to the front of the tank). This means if you fill the tank high enough to not see the water level that your light will constantly be at least party underwater, which means if you’ve got hard water your light is going to get scaled up without constant maintenance.
Overall it’s a decent kit. Mine will be good once I buy a replacement filter. But I question the value considering it doesn’t come with a heater or gravel.
