Extremely sturdy and well designed! My favorite top
We have multiple terrariums and vivariums with different brands and styles of tops and this is by far my favorite. I recently purchased a 40 gallon breeder tank without a lid and, after looking at multiple options here on Amazon, I decided to try this one. After working with it for the past few weeks, Iâm more than happy that I chose it.The screen is heavy duty and the hinges are smooth. The openings are a hair slightly more than 1/8th of an inch which provides plenty of ventilation and UVB penetration but could pose an escape issue if you use small feeder insects (I donât so it is a non-issue for me). The only negative I experienced with the lid is that while the side to side measurements fit the tank well, the front to back width was quite a bit larger than the tank. I fixed the issue by running weather stripping inside the back of the cover before locking it down and then cutting another strip 36â long for the front. The weather stripping successfully took up all of the extra slack for a secure, tight fit. Iâd definitely would purchase this again.Note: Please excuse the mess in the photos…. the tank is still being built out.

Does a great job keeping cats out of the fish tank!
I got a new kitten and, foolishly, didn’t think she’d be really able to get at the fish until she was a little older. First thing she did when I had my back turned was jump right up there and catch and eat a fish. It happened in literally 10 seconds of time. I bought this immediately and spent some time using metal shears to make cutouts for the canister filter inflow/outflow (this is seriously thick metal and it took ages) and now it sits perfectly on top of the tank. The hinged design is convenient and lets me quickly feed the fish in the mornings. It blends right in with the black rim of the tank and is perfectly sized. It’s incredibly sturdy while still letting plenty of air through to the tank and the tank light just sits on top of it neatly. All in all a great buy and my fishies are safe!

Finally, a hinged top with the hinge down the long way
I have a long low breeder tank holding some small lizards. The typical hinged screen top is hinged the short way, which does not allow easy access to the majority of the tank. This is the answer to a long term need. The screen top fits the tank perfectly. It’s sturdy enough to withstand a naughty Maine Coon cat (BIG girl!) sneaking on top of it, apparently to enjoy the heat of the basking light (the lizards are nocturnal and hiding in their caves), and hasn’t bent under her weight. It is attractive and I hope to have use of it for many years.

A must have for small critters
I bought this for my son’s aquarium that he had a hamster in. It had gotten out a few times and we decided to buy this. It works perfectly and has enough weight on it that it could not get out. We have had it for years now and the finish has help up perfectly. I strongly reccomend.

Be sure you donât get this for your brand of tank..
My snake needed a new lid and while this is the exact size, itâs a replacement for the Zooilla brand terrarium. This will not fit over the 4 screen top..
