Highly recommended for office or home.
As soon as you open the solid cardboard box you realize that this is a special product. It’s all packed in tightly with specially cut soft-foam corner pieces that are in turn protected from corner bumps by three sided plastic corners. You’ll also find a well written user manual with writing and illustrations that are readable without a magnifying glass. The next thing to take out of the box is the “Green Zone” a tank long graphite-black plastic trough that hangs off the back and wicks aquarium water into four compartments, each holding an open cell foam piece for placing plants that love wet feet (a list of approved readily available house plants is provided in the instructions). The tank is fully functional without the Green Zone, but it’s a really cool feature, enabling a dramatic display.Next, there is a thin “anti slip” piece of dense black foam intended as a footing for the glass tank. I would consider this optional as well, but see no reason not to use it. Besides providing a bit of stability, it insulates the tank and its inhabitants from vibrations that may be transmitted from the shelf or table it’s on.That removed, you see the graphite colored lid of the tank. This piece is finished like a work of modern art and houses the aquarium light in the middle with a fancy touch button that controls the pump and light. A rainbow of colors is available, as is white, all by circling a finger around the button. Other lighting modes, dimming, etc., are available through a downloadable app.Integral to it is a removable cover on one end that gives access to the filter and to the water’s surface for feeding. The filter has a combination of fine open cell foam “bio-cotton” and a compartment with some white spheres that provide additional surface area for beneficial bacteria. Also here is the adjustable outflow, a rake of tubes that sprays water over the tank surface. A spare rake is included as it’s a bit delicate, though once you figure out how it all comes apart and together, there is no reason to think the first one might break.A cool feature I haven’t tried yet is the ability to do water changes by diverting the pump outflow.Wiring is waterproofed by sealed two-pin connectors. There is a specific passage in the back of the lid for an aquarium heater of your choice, or some airline tubing, probably not both. Adding an airstone and a heater without modifying the lid might be tricky. We’ll see.The tank itself is a flawless 5-sided box of thick glass. No feet, no frame.Other accessories, none of which I plan to use, are an assortment of some of the more tasteful fake plants I’ve seen and a hollow ceramic “rock” with a pair of holes to provide ingress and egress for tank inhabitants that want to be left alone.

Disappointing- size discrepancy, poor lightning, decent filter
As I have had some bad experiences with some nano aquarium kits, I was a little skeptical about getting this one. This tank includes a few nice items: nice clear 4mm thick glass, lights, a filter, some ornaments (fake plants and a small cave), as well as a nice hydroponic attachment to grow plants. This tank seems like it has everything you need, but there are some issues I have with it.First, the tank size. Though the product description lists the dimensions as 18.1 x 9.4 x 12.9 inches with a 3.7-gallon capacity, my measurements (which were the internal tank dimensions) were 15.25 x 6.25 x 7.25 inches, which nets to just under 3 gallons. As you would normally not fill the tank to the rim, the actual water capacity would be closer to 2.7 gallons if you fill it to 90%. When I filled the tank up, I only used two and a half 1-gallon bottles of water, confirming my measurements. While the included light on this tank is a nice feature, where you lift the light panel on top to turn it on, I didn’t find it to be bright enough to grow good plants. There is no dimmer feature, only color variances, which I am not fond of. The control for the lighting is horrendous as well, as there is a weird touch control that you toggle through all the color variances, but no control for light intensity. In addition, while there is a protective cover for the light, condensation and splashing water from the filter can lead to algae or other issues on the cover. On the good side, the water filter was better than expected. The media type was effective, and it was very quiet; I could not hear it running. The water outlet, which was a rainfall style, was very quiet as well; again, I did not hear any splashing noise. The water circulation from the filter is excellent, as I could see water particles circulate all around the tank without being too strong. My concern for the filter is maintenance, as removing the filter media will cause quite a mess during cleaning sessions.Though I did not fully test it, I found the hydroponic attachment very nice. There are small plastic clips that attach to the side of the tank with a small (cotton?) rope. Though I believe it will work, I am not sure. I still find it a nice feature though.Overall, I found this nano tank kit to be just okay. The true size of the tank is almost a gallon smaller than advertised, the lighting is mediocre, the controls are bad, the filter is good but cleaning may be an issue, and the value is not there for a tank this size at the $89.99 listed price. I ended up using it as a holding tank for some plants/shrimp while I was doing some maintenance on my other tanks.

Dream Tank, But Make It BIGGER
Okay, this little glass box is cute, I’ll give it that. The LED lights? Love ‘em. The self-cleaning filter? Nice touch. The compact size? Eh… That’s where I have a tiny problem—literally.I want all my tanks to have this vibe, but way bigger—like, give me a version that can actually house fish without them developing claustrophobia. Imagine this setup but at 20, 40, or even 75 gallons, glowing like a futuristic underwater metropolis. That’s the dream. For now, this mini marvel is fine for shrimp, sea monkeys, or maybe a single judgmental betta, but if they ever make a jumbo version, I’m all in.

This is a very nice fish tank!
This is a very nice fish tank! Firstly, it was very nicely packaged when it arrived and was in perfect condition. The size was a little smaller than I anticipated, but it will certainly do. I LOVE the LED lights and really like that it’s self-cleaning! It came with directions and was easy to set up. The price of this when I originally ordered this item was $89.99, which isn’t bad for this tank!
