I tried this but didn’t realize it had shells in that the birds leave behind. The seeds are large and there are chunks of peanuts. I think I prefer the No-Mess bird seeds over this one. However, the package is fresh, its as promised, arrived complete and on time. Great seller, just not my favorite style of wild bird seed. It seems to attract more squirrels than birds.

Large percentage of filler seeds and corn.
This bird seed contains a large percentage of corn and millet which remains uneaten in the feeders every day. I find the shelled sunflower seeds are a better option. They are consumed completely by the birds and squirrels, no shells to clean up.

The birds seem to like it so we got what we wanted. And yes, squirrels seem to enjoy the seeds too unfortunately. Unfortunately we realized too late how pricey it is so not great value for our money. My wife found similar seed in bulk and bought an equivalent or greater quantity for a small fraction of what we paid for Kaytee seeds. Not likely to buy anymore Kaytee at Amazon.

WellI put this bird see out at 4 different bird feeder stations along hiking trails. Three on the stations chipmunks and squirrels ate it all up and the fourth station, a bear totally demolished the station. But zero birds were observed at any site.

The birds are loving this seed and I think that the whole bird community has figured it out. Iâve pretty much gone through a whole bag in 2 days and now the birds are giving me the stink eye. Iâm afraid that if I donât get more of this stuff, that they will collectively revolt upon my head. I have had a blast watching the birds go crazy over this seed.
