Filter a bit strong for small amount of water but it is adjustable.

Perfect size for desk, but base light corroded and the filter is too much for a small tank.
Nice for my office, but after a short time the light in the base is corroded. The filter causes the water to evaporate quickly since there is no lid on the tank. The filter is very strong and my beta has to work hard to not be pulled towards it. It is super cute with the waterfall but I donât keep the filter turned on often. Iâve enjoyed it on my desk but probably wouldnât buy it again.

VERY FRAGILE so follow these suggestions
This is a cool little fish bowl, HOWEVER, it is very delicate and fragile. I can predict that one wrong move and this fishbowl will be just a glass vase…or fishbowl without lights and filter.The filter is EXTREMELY fragile. In fact, the first filter came cracked. Do NOT use force trying to connect the filter head, or you may end up breaking it. For the filter to work, you will need to open the top of the filter and add water into the filter first. Secondly, the water level in your bowl must be above the filter tube holes. Lastly, you don’t have to use the extension tube on the filter head. It all depends how much rocks you add…if any.The light in the wood block under the bowl doesn’t have the light and wiring covered. This means that if water drips out of the bowl and onto the light and wiring, it could be disastrous. Be extremely careful that your bowl remains dry on the outside at all time.The rocks/glass that comes with this bowl is cheap and worthless. There isn’t even enough to add a nice layer to the bottom of the bowl. So I threw that garbage out and used my own white rocks that I had. I used black rocks too and that looked like it would be better for the fish. So please note the rocks in my picture are my own, bought separately and did not come with this package.Keep in mind this is a fish bowl. Not an aquarium. Don’t expect much from it. Don’t expect to be able to have a full aquarium setup. Just a nice bowl for 1 or 2 small fish, maybe goldfish.

The filter does NOT work
We were excited about this because we loved the look and size for two goldfish.Unfortunately the filter never worked, and the water would be cloudy again after 12 hours. Extremely disappointing, would not purchase if given another chance

Filter needs ‘primed’ with water – see 6 month update, 1 Yr power outage burned up pump
This is the perfect desktop aquarium. The instructions on the included pump/filter are completely in chinese so I used google translate to read it and found out that I needed to fill the pump with water first. Thank goodness for technology! The led lights seem too bright when looking from top but the lighting is really nice when viewed from the side. We arranged the provided plant and stones to diffuse the light for the fish’s sake. The pump is practically silent and circulates the water well. A very nice addition to my office.UPDATE: I have had this Mini tank for 6 months now and it is still working great. I know pet stores recommend 1″ of fish per gallon tank but I have to admit I don’t want lonely fish so I have two Rasboras and one catfish as tank mates. It seems to be a great combo since the catfish helps keep the bottom cleaned up. Once a week I use a large syringe with a straw attached to suck excess debri off the bottom and cotton swabs to ‘wipe down’ the interior of the filter to keep everything fresh. I always keep a container of room temp bottle water handy to add back. I also added live plants tied to a rock. See new video.One year – we had a power outage while away and since we were not home to prime the pump with water again, it ran dry and burned up the motor. The fish were still fine, thankfully, but the smallest replacement filter/pump I could find locally takes up so much space!

Great little aquarium
This is a great little aquarium. I love that it lights up from the bottom. Its well made and durable. The only problem with it is the filter is a bit to strong for the fish. My poor beta kept getting stuck on the intake tube so I had to turn it off. The plant and rocks that came with it are nice, I just wish it came with more rocks. There were only enough rocks to cover a small portion of the bottom and I prefer the entire bottom is covered. Overall, this is a very nice aquarium, and Im very happy that I got it.
