    Filter might be too strong.
Super great size aquarium love the internal filter. Also enjoy the fact that the top is completely covered and has a light hole. I do have a problem with the filter though seems way too strong for the size tank that it is so I have not been able to put my fish in the tank. Have to purchase a new filter due to lack of instructions for the filter as well

Not 5 gallons, less than 4 gallons
I was looking forward to receiving this 5-gallon tank kit, but I was immediately concerned when I saw the box. The box was smaller than my existing 5-gallon tank, making me doubt its advertised capacity. After measuring, I confirmed that this “5-gallon” tank kit is NOT 5 gallons. It is slightly under 4 gallons (14.5″ x 9″ x 7″ according to my measurements). Here’s a breakdown of the kit’s components:Tank: Made of thin, lightweight, and clear polycarbonate (feels like plastic), closer to 4 gallons.Lid: Poorly made, with a loose fit that requires adjustment for proper alignment. Even with perfect alignment, noticeable gaps remain.Base Rim: Removable, but the top rim is not, preventing a rimless tank setup.Light: A small, sufficiently bright full-spectrum disc. However, it lacks a mounting system and occupies the optional hydroponic plant slot. This slot is positioned in one corner of the tank so the light would not light the tank evenly. It also has a fixed lighting level with no dimming options.Internal Filter: Provides sufficient sponge filtration and is fairly quiet. However, it takes up valuable space in a nano tank, and the flow is too strong for most aquatic fish, especially bettas.Add-ons: Blue gravel, fake plants, and a net (resembling a fly swatter) were included. While these are nice additions, they don’t compensate for the tank’s inaccurate size.Needless to say, I am quite disappointed with this “5-gallon” tank kit, especially at the price of $79.99 (at the time of purchase), and would not recommend this kit.

    I like the acrylic!
This tank makes for an even dozen, 10 of which are under 20 gal., it is also the 1st acrylic one that I’ve acquired. It is by far the lightest weight one in my ‘collection’. While they can be more challenging to maintain, small tanks are probably the more common/popular, space alone can decide that for a person. I’ve intention to start building tanks this year and getting my hands on an acrylic one has shown me better as to what that will entail. Acrylic is massively much lighter yet plenty strong. This tank has a bit of a low profile, so it’ll fit on the inner/lower shelves on the aquarium stand(s). This is a bit of an expensive price, but it comes with the full kit which makes it a much better deal.

    Not a fan
I can appreciate how much comes with this tank, but I honestly don’t recommend this for beginners as a “starter kit”. The light doesn’t illuminate the entire tank, the lid is very flimsy and doesn’t stay secure, and the filter has too strong of a flow for this small of a tank. Mine also makes a loud sputtering noise. I thought this was a 5 gallon, but they updated the listing to be more accurate, which I appreciate.Thankfully I have other filters and lights I can use, but being that this is supposed to be a starter kit, it makes it hard to recommend.

    Not what I expected
This was first advertised on vine as a 5 gallon tank. When I received it I could see that the tank was smaller than 5 gallons. Come to find out it is less than 4 gallons. Tank is plastic, not acrylic, but still a pretty nice tank except for its size. Good for a beginner with a couple of platys, or other small fish or as a hospital tank. It is a decent tank but not the best I have seen for this size. It does come with everything you need to set it up except a small heater.

    NOT WORTH IT
I got this fish tank hoping that for the price, I’d be getting a good starter fish tank. Well, boy was I wrong!! This tank is ALLLLLLLLLL plastic, 100% only plastic. Not even 5 gallons, more like 4ish. I don’t honestly understand how to filter is suppose to keep it clean or anything. I planned to use it as a baby tank for the baby mollies I have and baby mystery snails, but I honestly wouldn’t put any creature in it. For how much money this tank is, It IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!

    Basic Beginner Aquarium
This is a decent beginner aquarium set, and is a good starter set for kids or teens. The components aren’t super high end, but they are good, and nothing leaks, the pump works, etc. The size is good for a couple of goldfish, or a beta. You could even use this for some little frogs, but not too many.

    Goldfish Are Screaming
For the price, I expected something better than a plastic 5-gallon with three tiny plants and a sprinkle of sparkly gravel—which, by the way, is not even enough to cover the bottom properly.Right now, I’m using it to start aquatic plants, and maybe later, a shrimp tank—but for actual fish? Nope. And the listing photo? Someone badly photoshopped MULTIPLE goldfish into this tiny tank, as if that’s even remotely okay. Those poor fish. I can hear them crying. Do not get this for goldfish. Ever.
