Skeptical at first. Satisfied later on. Sad about the price.
You’re one of the smart individuals that searched for the active ingredient to find a cheaper generic version of Seachem’s holy grail of Fish medication, Kanaplex.I was apprehensive at first but the stuff really works. I can’t say if it works better than the Seachem’s name brand product (because that works well too). But the effectiveness is definitely there. There is a slight difference in the texture of the product. Seachem’s is more salty? If that makes sense.. and this product was more fluffy.I got a scooper / spoon that is larger than Seachem’s but I always weigh my fish’s medicine with a jewelery scale (.001g) to be as accurate as possible. My only complaint and reason for 4-stars is, the price. If this is a generic, why are we paying more than Seachem’s? This product is 10-grams for $25ish while Seachem is 5-grams for $10. Essentially, this product is 25% more expensive.Still it deserves 4 or 5 stars!

Better & more effective kanamycin
This kanamycin, Kana-Cura, is very good quality; it’s definitely worth the price. I have been using Kanaplex for years, Seachem is a trustworthy company that makes quality products; but I am now definitely convinced Kana-Cura is better and more effective. I don’t know if it’s just more pure or what. I’ve purchased it three times now.I noticed someone mentioned the difference that you use one scoop of Kana-Cura vs two scoops of Kanaplex. While that is true, the amount is actually the same: the scoop for Kana-Cura is twice the volume of the scoop for Kanaplex. I tested this using water. So the amount of powder per 10 gallons is the same. But still, for whatever reason, Kana-Cura is just better and more effective. I don’t think I have ever gotten as good results with Kanaplex. There is a very good reason that this is important: kanamycin is a strong med with side effects that can harm your fish, temporarily or permanently. In fact, depending on the state of your fish’s health, and how long you treat them, the side effects from kanamycin can actually end up killing your fish. So if you have to use kanamycin, you do not want to have to use it for extended periods of time. When I used Kanaplex, I kept having to repeat the treatments, and I hated doing that precisely because I was worried about it causing harm to my fish and prolonging or even increasing their suffering. So from now on, I am only going to buy Kana-Cura if I can, because I now trust it way more than Kanaplex.

Seems to be working.. but..
It seemed to work well. My Betta had a rotting tail and white fungus-like spot, and with its use as instructed, the white spot in the tail disappeared. My betta fish seemed to be doing better for a few days, however, my fish died a few days afterwards. I canât tell if itâs due to the use of this product though.

Saving Fish..worth it!
Trying to save my 4 inch Angel Fish is challenging enough. He’s so beautiful, and the only one in group who got ill.He improved the first day on meds and might recover. The powder is easy to use but I placed it in a clean Rx bottle instead of the envelope so it wouldn’t spill.

Didnât help… but our fish may have a different problem
Easy to use and didn’t make the water cloudy. But it didn’t help our fish. His problem may not have remedy so it may not be the productâs fault.
