Best Bird Carrier
I originally bought one of those carriers on here with the ugly patterns that are just bulky shoulder bags with mesh on each side and a perch inside. I wasn’t satisfied with it at all, but it was the only bird carrier I could find that was easily portable and didn’t cost $200-300 like Celltei carriers. I decided to just bite the bullet and buy a Celltei carrier for my bird, when I found this one. It looked excellent online and had good reviews, so I ordered one. I was skeptical about the quality of it because it just seemed too good to be true. My other searches for carriers other than Celltei brand (which are outrageously overpriced, like, come on, what makes your carrier worth over $200???) and the crappy one I bought before yielded nothing, so imagine how skeptical I was of this one when I found it.However, when it arrived and I unboxed it, I was amazed. It doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy in any way. Unlike the ugly carrier I bought before, it looks good, not too different from a regular backpack. It also has shoulder straps, which the ugly carrier didn’t have; it only had a crossbody strap, which made it too unstable when walking and shook my poor bird around when I was trying to take him out for a nice stroll at the park. I would have to hold it by the top handle constantly, which just ruined the experience for me, since it was really tiring. This carrier has a lot of versatility in how you carry it. You can wear it on your back like a backpack, over the shoulder like a messenger bag, or simply carry it by the top handle. I haven’t tried it yet, but you could probably strap it to your front like a baby carrier, if you felt safer taking your bird out when you could keep an eye on the carrier or if you simply wanted to have your bird closer to interact with. One thing I didn’t know about this bag when I ordered it is that it has the ability to be configured so that you can fasten a seatbelt through the straps on the back, like you would a child’s carseat. The waist straps can be fastened into 2 extra buckles at the top for this feature. The instructions that come with it explain this. I was happy when I discovered this addition. I like to take my bird places, but I want to ensure that he is safe while traveling. You can put the shoulder strap over the headrest of one of your carseats and fasten the seatbelt through the straps on the back for a secure ride for your bird, while driving. All of the zippers on the carrier are high quality, not flimsy and breakable. You would have a very hard time breaking one of these zippers. The clear plastic window on the front of the carrier is very flexible but doesn’t feel like it would be easily broken. I love the shades that you can roll over the front and sides if your bird needs sleep or privacy while traveling. The area for attaching a water bottle is an awesome addition, and the elastic straps for holding the bottle are very snug. My bird has a glass water bottle, and I don’t worry at all about it slipping out of the straps of this bag. The food bowl also fits very snugly and securely. I like the drip tray and the removable grate that goes over it. It’s extremely easy to clean. The included zipper pouch is super useful for carrying foods or prescriptions, and the mesh pocket on the side is great for treats. While out and about, the metal ventilation holes in the carrier are big enough that you could give your bird treats through them and not have to try unzipping the bag a little and risking your bird flying away. Also, another thing I didn’t know when I ordered is that the carrier comes with a storage bag for storing the entire carrier, which is really nice. If you don’t use it often, the bag can keep it from getting dusty and protect it from pests while in storage. When I first set the carrier up, I used a wet cloth soaked in bird safe sanitizing solution to wipe down the inside of the carrier and the perch. The material is smooth and very easy to wipe off. The drip tray slides in through one side and fits very tightly, so you don’t have to worry about the tray moving around. The ventilation mesh feels to be of a good quality. That being said, I wouldn’t recommend this for birds larger than a large conure or for aggressive chewers. The mesh is not made of metal, so a determined bird could probably chew through it. You should supervise your bird in this carrier before taking it outside. My bird (green cheek conure) doesn’t chew anything very often, so I don’t worry about him chewing through the mesh or plastic window and escaping. Still, that is one of my criticisms of this carrier; it would be better with a metal or tough plastic wire mesh. Even though it’s very unlikely that my bird would ever chew through it, I would feel even more secure transporting him in it if the mesh were made of a stronger material. My only other suggestion for this carrier is that a toy hook inside would be great for preventing birds from getting extremely bored during travel. You could find a way to hang most toys inside, especially because the carrier has 4 ventilation holes across the top, but a dedicated toy hanger would still be nice.Overall, I love this carrier, and I’m so glad I found it so I could save potentially $200 on a quality bird carrier. I even got compliments on it the very first time I took my bird out in it. His first trip in this carrier was to the exotics vet for a check up, and the vet said this carrier was “really cool” and asked where I got it. Then, as I was leaving the office, a woman who was at the check out window complimented how neat it was. It really is an excellent carrier, and I highly recommend it to anyone with a smaller bird up to a bird around the size of a sun conure. It’s not big enough for medium sized birds. However, I wouldn’t recommend it for very small birds, like finches, because they could feasibly squeeze out of the ventilation holes. I also recommend getting some 3M Vetrap and wrapping the perch inside so that your bird can keep a good grip on it and not slide off.

Excellent quality and a great product!
I usually do not write reviews for products on Amazon, but I felt that I needed to write one here. This carrier EXCEEDS my expectations!!!!!I would not say that my green-cheeked conure “loves” it, but she definitely tolerates it more than any other carrier that I ever tried for her. She is a bit of a free spirit and does not like to be confined. However, the large window made her much more comfortable. It would be a little small for a larger bird, but it is a perfect size for a conure, cockatiel, or other smaller parrot. The perch is high enough that her tail does not drag the bottom, and there is plenty of room for her to move around. The quality of the product was outstanding. It is well-constructed and sturdy, which is important to me as I am using it to transport precious cargo. It is also lightweight, which is a plus!Really though, it is the little details that I was not even aware of when I made the purchase. The panel tie backs. The food bowl. The easily removable bottom tray. The space for the water bottle. And most importantly for me, easy ways to secure the carrier to a car seat for transport. No more throwing my arm back to prevent the tenuously strapped carrier from sliding during a turn or a hard brake when driving. It is more expensive than other carriers on the market, but I would highly recommend it to any bird lover. The quality and design were outstanding. It was worth it for the feathered member of my family.

We love this carrier
We have a green cheek conure that we like to travel with to work, family, for walks outside, etc. I wanted something that would be spacious and comfortable for him, as well as well ventilated. This backpack is very well made. Its comfortable to wear. I love that it has covers that roll up or down to keep him shaded if it gets too sunny, or for car rides if he gets sick. The pouch that clips on is nice to keep his little pouches of food and treats in. He has not chewed the mesh… yet. So, so far, so good on that. But i like that the mesh is not that flimsy, and seems to be good quality. My one main complaint is that the food bowls are very difficult to get in! I cant even get one of them inside the ring at all. So, poor chap usually has to go without food/drink already in there. Which is why its nice to have the pouch, so that i can carry little food bowls in there when we stop. They are pretty deep also. Its not the worst thing, but it wish that we could at least use those while traveling. There is a strong smell when you initially get it. But, I wiped it down with vinegar and water, and let it soak in the sun for a few days, and now its fine. So make sure to give it around a week or so to air out before using it.It folds down pretty flat and has a lovely carrying case. I like that there is also a mesh pocket on the one side so that you can put stuff in. I may try to see if I can fit a drinking water bottle in there for him. I think the newer ones have a set up for that.I love that the handle is at the MIDDLE of the top of carrier, not off to the front or the back. That way, when we pick it up by the handle, the bird doesnt tip backward or forward. It has a good amount of vent holes and mesh coverage, so I feel like he is getting the air and circulation he needs, but I still woudnt use this for any longer than you need to for transport. I do have a mini fan that I can put in the side pocket if I feel he needs it.I would have loved to have seen a place to hook a toy in there for him. However, it has vent holes on the top that I can jerry rig one in there if need be. But it would have been nice to have one in there already.Overall, I definitely recommend this product. Its well made, and good value for the money. Our little guy can be transported safely without dragging a bulky, heavy cage around, which means we are able to include him in being with us a lot more .

I just received this carrier the other day and I’m very impressed. I have a small Pak-O-Bird by Celltei and let me tell you this is just as good if not better. The only thing I would wish for is for the mesh to be made of metal like the Celltei carriers and for a similar food dish set up. The inside is very spacious and is more than suitable for a Conure. It looks like it could fit up to a goffin cockatoo comfortably but because of their chewing habits I wouldn’t recommend it for outside travelling. As a car seat it may work really well since there’s less risk of escape into open air. It’s easy to assemble and feels very sturdy. I’m not a huge fan of the dish set up as it is very deep but it is nice that it is there to offer food while travelling. It would be nice if there were some D-hooks inside for hanging toys but if you are creative enough you can hang toys via the open vents at the top of the carrier. The tray is ever so slightly too long and makes the side flap bulge just a little. But it does fit snuggly in there and keeps the base flat. I admit, if the bird was a chewer, I would be concerned that the thin fabric of that flat in particular would be the first place they would get through.I LOVE the hard plastic edging surrounding the opening. It prevents birds from picking at the stitching which my conure has done to her Celltei carrier. There is one zipper on it that I question though and that is on the inside. On the back wall there is a zipper that opens up to expose the board that makes the back stiff. I don’t fully understand why they put this zipper on the inside where the bird can pick at it. Putting it on the back outside would have made more sense. What I would love to see is a better dish set up, options for extra perches, toy hooks and a change in the mesh. A really great addition would be changing up the zippers on the front so that they either clip together or allow you to put a lock on it to secure the zippers closed. My biggest fear is having someone come up behind me and opening the bag. I usually slip a twist tie through the zippers when I’m out just to be safe. And just because, I’d love to see different colors!I’ll be giving it a thorough testing by using it as a sleeper for my conure over the next little while.I highly recommend this carrier. The features are beyond expectation and the price is resonable. It comes with nice instructions, a small accessory bag and a larger storage bag. I have three birds and it is safe to say I’ll be ordering a second one for my lovebirds. I also absolutely love that the company provides their contact information. A+ work.

I bought this carrier to take my 2 budgies, one English budgie & one standard budgie, on a a road trip. Itâs the best carrier that I have seen yet. It looks like a little back pack when all the flaps are closed, and no one would even guess itâs a pet carrier unless you have the front flap up for your birds to look out the window, or if people hear them chirp of course! Good features of this bag are as follows: #1 good ventilation, mesh screen on both sides, the bottom front, and 3 vent holes on the top that let air in if all your flaps are closed. The 2 side screens and front plastic window flaps have buttons so you can roll them back & pin them in place. The mesh screens are fine enough so that no seeds or feathers can fall outside the bag. #2 removable tray & grate: This comes out through a zipper on the lower side to be cleaned & keeps your birds from sitting in their own filth all day. #3 easy to carry: the straps on the bag make it easy to carry on your shoulder, in your hand, or on your back like a back pack. The bag sits nice & straight when on your back, & when sitting on a table. This bag sits nicely in a car seat with the long strap wrapping up around the head rest, and the seat belt fastened around the bag, which makes it very secure. #4 comes with suspended metal bowl, and an area to attach a water bottle to the outside of the bag for extra cleanliness. #5 perch: the perch was an okay height that both my birds could get up on it from the floor of the cage. Bad features of the bag: #1 perch: the perch didnât have adjustable height for a larger or smaller bird, and it would have been nice to have a second perch at a different height so the birds could more easily get around each other. #2. Dishes: water bottle wasnât included With the bag & the feed dish was a bit too deep. I put 2 dishes on the floor of the carrier, with rubber bottoms, so they wouldnât slip around. Without the rubber, they would have, in the car. I used the included deep dish for treats. #3 no where to hang any treats from the sides of the cage, or toys if you wanted to.#4 a bit messy to clean: Although the removable tray/grate really helped with cleaning, around the sides where the tray sits, are a lot of nooks and crannies where spilled pellets, seeds and feathers can get. After 2 or 3 days, the whole bag really needs to be dumped clean of all the seeds that get in around the corners. Although there are a few features of this bag that could be improved upon, I was still really pleased with its overall function. I do recommend a few things to take note of however, if you do decide to purchase this bag. Air out the bag at least a few days before you put your birds in, as there seems to be a bit of off gassing, which was fine after a few days. Also, start getting your birds used to the bag a week before the trip so they are not stressed by it when itâs time to go. It took my birds about 4 tries getting in the bag so that they werenât afraid of it anymore. The other thing is, be careful with the sun shining on the front window of the bag as itâs plastic, & could heat up the bag. Also the bag is not insulated, so it needs to be covered if taking it outside in winter. Finally, when the front flap is rolled up and pinned so that your birds can look out the window, the rolled flap tends to block the 3 vent holes on the top of the bag, so care needs to be taken that adequate ventilation is coming from at least one of the other vents, if the top ones are covered. Despite the few minor things that could have been improved upon regarding this bag, it was a great bag for travelling, and a god send for bringing my birds on a road trip. Saved a lot of money from having to board them, and they got used to it fairly quickly. I received many compliments on the bag, and quite a few people said that they never knew such a thing even existed! Nice to see someone put a bit of thought into its design. I highly recommend.

Honestly, I really like this bag and want to give it 5 stars (especially considering the price), but there are a few design issues that I can’t overlook. The bad things:1) Like a bunch of other people, I can’t get the bowl into the loop holder for it. The loop is simply too small for the bowl. While the loop can be opened, I still couldn’t get the bowl to fit.2) The perch diameter is too big for smaller birds. My green cheek conure couldn’t grip the perch very well so I had to use a lathe to make it narrower. Would be great if the bag came with 2 perch sizes or options to pick a different size.3) When you roll up the front cover (the opaque cover over the clear plastic front door) it completely blocks the top vent holes making them useless. This is a design flaw. If the hook for the cover was closer to the front of the bag and not behind the handle it would work way better. The good:1) The bag sturdy and seems surprisingly well constructed.2) You can use the top vent holes to hang toys and treats. I just tie the toy to the top handle and then secure it on the perch to stop it from swinging too much.3) The hip strap doubles as a loop to hook a seatbelt through.4) Removable bottom tray is super helpful. Comes with a grate to cover the tray and prevents the bird from walking in its own poop.
