Critters love them!!
I was skeptical about getting worms that werenât alive at first because I do wildlife rescue and rehabilitation so the critters Iâm feeding tend to want everything fresh, but I gave these a try based on the reviews and because they werenât dried. Iâm glad I did. They love them. They are an okay size for the squirrels. A little small for the raccoons and opossums.I gave 5 stars for the value and quality for the money because I love how the packages come individually packed.I gave 5 stars for the flavor and recommend to accent your whiskey. Mealworms for your mead. Iâm kidding but once I get enough whiskey in me sans worm, itâs likely Iâd try it on a dare. Anyway, the critters said they taste great.I gave 5 stars for scent because they smell like straight up b°°ty hole and that will only make the critters even happier.

GREAT VALUE! Better than canned and even live feeders
Great product! I originally used the canned worms like Flukers for my leopard geckos, which were fine compared to raising live mealworms, which was simply too much for someone like me whoâs constantly busy. Anyway, I would definitely say theses are WAY BETTER than both because I donât have to deal with the nasty juice and smell of the cans. Canned ones also molded super fast. These however are VERY slow to mold (if at all in my experience lol) as long as you keep them in a ziplock bag in the fridge after opening a pack. They are fresh, moist, with no odors or stinky juice! Also an amazing value for your money. Leopard gecko approved!! Will be purchasing more and hopefully this company will look into more packaged insects like crickets!

I wasnât expecting this much excitement!
I can honestly say that I was ecstatic to see my Bluebirds overwhelmingly accept these fresh mealworms. The first time they entered the mealworm feeder, it was like they could hardly get their balance for jumping up and down for joy. Prior to these fresh mealworms, I would provide them with dried mealworms. Yeah, they liked them okay, but never jumped for joy. But when I saw them taking the dried mealworms to the nestlings, I knew I had to make a change. Nestlings get their moisture from insects, and dried mealworms werenât going to cut it anymore. Iâm convinced that my fledglings will be larger, much healthier, and more ready to survive once they emerge. Highly recommended!!ADDENDUM: I keep the mealworms in the refrigerator until ready to use, and then I only take out one packet at a timeâI love that they are portioned in smaller packets inside the larger re-sealable bag. This process keeps them fresher longer.UPDATE: The nestlings fledged today, day #17, and all looked more healthy than Iâve ever seen before. And, while perched up in the tree behind my back fence, the parents continue to take turns returning to the feeder for additional fresh mealworms. These things are truly a hit!

Quality declining
I have had this on a subscribe and save and the last four deliveries (of 45) have been awful! At least 3/12 bags in each package have been rotten, the bags completely swollen. If you have bags like this do not open them. I haven’t heard anything from the manufacturer about what they are doing to fix this.

This review is for Fresh Mealworms 8.4 oz (1600 Count Total, 12 Bags) Superior to Live Mealworms – Premium Food for Leopard Gecko, Exotic Bird Food, Sugar Glider Food, Hedgehog Food -High Nutritients, No Preservatives. I bought this to feed the Curly-tailed and Anole lizards in my yard. My next batch of live worms was going to take two weeks to arrive. Amazon provided these the next day. Some of them were shriveled and very dead looking, others were plump and looked fresh. I found that the lizards would eat them if they moved. So by throwing them they would excitedly follow and eat them. Otherwise a hard sell to get the lizards to eat, and many that were not suitable for presenting. Better than nothing, and a good amount of worms for the price and a very long shelf life. Great for an emergency.
