Great little starter tank. Needed a home for a new betta fish that was given to my daughter as a gift in a little fish bowl. I believe it came from a party as a centerpiece. Felt a need to let him thrive because I felt guilty as a 8-10 yr old child, I would always buy bettas and they would always die on me. Now that Iâm older, did the time for some research then more research and then more research on how to take care of them and how to cycle a tank. I had know idea, I was about to spend more than just a tank lol. Live plants, substrates, barriers, food, lights and countless chemical treatments, cleaners and tools.The tank is very cute and perfect size for where I planned to put it. I have very little space in my home. It is clear as glass can be but downside was it was narrow for putting things in the tank.It came with a light that was bleh.. did not sit flush because of the filter and felt like it blocked too much of the tank to get in there. Dealt with it, till I researched how to get live plants to thrive with a good full spectrum light and upgraded to one and can use a smart plug to work with google home.The filter that came with it, is a really good size for this tank. I read complaints that it was noisy and did notice it the first few days. After tinkering and saw that it came from the skimmer, I just raised the water level a lot higher about an inch to inch and a half to rim. It is super quiet. I canât even tell that itâs on. Also with the higher level, you can slow the flow rate much more for my betta Red.Now Red seems happy and has a little more room to swim and explore. This may be a new hobby for me now. Just need more space for bigger tanks.

Very loud filter – Seller replaced w/ new, upgraded SILENT filter
UPDATE 11/13 – The seller reached out and offered to send me the upgraded filter to replace the noisy one I got and it is truly SILENT. I couldn’t be happier with the customer service and replacement filter. With the upgraded filter, this kit is perfect!11/6 – The tank looks really nice and the light is nice but the filter is horrendous. If it were constantly loud, it wouldn’t be that bad but no, it’s quiet sometimes but then it randomly makes a really loud sucking noise for awhile. I have no idea why it’s acting like that but I can’t make it stop. Little disappointed because the rest of the kit is great. Fyi the controller for the light blinks constantly so if it’s in the same room that you sleep in, that can be annoying. But overall it’s a pretty nice kit for the price. Just wish the filter was normal so I could actually use it and put fish in this tank.

Update #2- I’ve had this tank for 6 months now, and I’m thrilled with it. I did a few modifications. I completely removed the skimmer part. I also got another light for it because the one that came with it stopped working. But the pump is still almost silent after 6 months, and it is a lovely little aquarium. I highly recommend it. Definitely well worth the price!I bought this in a pinch because my other tank started leaking and was pleasantly surprised. I was a bit worried after reading reviews talking about the filter being very loud. The filter is super quiet (see video) IF you do a little hack. Somehow the skimmer top fell off and got lost when I was putting it together. I improvised by plugging the top with a silicone ear bud sizing thing (to make earbuds fit different size ear holes). If the skimmer close to the surface where it draws in both air and water, the pump is very loud. So make sure the skimmer is submerged well below the surface, or maybe completely plug it. You can see my skimmer hack in the photo.I only deducted a star because I don’t think the skimmer is a good design. I’d give 4.5 stars if I could.EDIT- After a week, I have a few more notes to add. They are all things that are cons, but there are work-arounds.The biggest con is that if you use the automatic timer setting for the light, the controller will continuously flash blue light when the light is off and it is very bright. I have gone to bed multiple times and had to get out of bed after turning off the light to get up and turn the controller power off, which makes it have a steady blue light (which is still a bit annoying and a waste of electricity). I’m going to get some electrical tape and tape over it to hopefully block the light.The filter needs a few other tweaks. The intake tube sections come apart easily and have fallen off, which thankfully didn’t suck up my Betta and kill him. A drop of super glue at the joints fixed that. Also, I forgot to mention that the filter only comes with a foam pad. I got rid of that and put a pouch of Fluval Biomax media in instead. This, in addition to 1/4 teaspoon of Quick Start beneficial bacteria/ day, eliminated the nitrite that was showing up on the tests within a couple of days.

Beautiful, Complete Aquarium System
This aquarium is an excellent design, which maximizes the viewing area with itâs unique dimensions. The filter system is easy to assemble, and is remarkably quiet. The only sound is that of a tiny waterfall. The filter is a biological sponge, which is impregnated with activated carbon. We chose the direct filtration option, bypassing the skimming feature. The LED lighting system was another pleasant surprise, with many options, and is incredibly bright. This is by far the best illuminated and most attractive aquarium system we have ever owned. Just remember to prime the filter pump by adding water to it until the bubbling stops. An absolutely incredible value for the money. Very highly recommended!

Cheaper Broken Filter
No double it is a beautiful tank, but in my option it is too small for everyday tank. I would only set this as a hospital tank. My filter wouldn’t start so I have to make a return, but overall I feel like I wouldn’t use that filter. Looks pretty cheap. I thought about getting another filter, but the tank is kind of small for the filter I had in mind. So I end up returning the tank

I was looking for a modern and well made tank for my daughterâs Betta fish and this is perfect. Itâs very thin. Itâs only about the width of a regular cell phone, but it looks really good. The heater is not noisy at all, despite some reviews when the water evaporates yes the filter will get noisy, but a simple fix is to just keep some treated water And simply top up by about an inch or so and the noise from the heater goes away and itâs completely silent, I also took a placemat and cut it to size and stuck it with double-sided tape to the back of the tank that also looks really nice and itâs a good idea to hide any wires from heater or filter

Beautiful 3 gallons I love the aquarium and the light and filter are good too . It’s was my first aquarium and I didn’t really know nothing about fish and after a while I understood that 3 gallon is way to small for any kind fish (even a betta) specially if you want to put decorations or plants so my only regret is to not buying bigger. I had to upgrade to 10 gallons about a month after so if you are reading this buy bigger you won’t regret

I like the rimless look and clear glass. The filter has a skimmer which I really like. It does make a little bit of noise. The tank is narrow and so the light with the filter on makes the light support a bit precarious. The height of the tank is good for plants. I got a tiny heater for it that was not included in the kit and plant aquarium gravel also not included.

I donât buy this fish tank under any circumstances. As loud itâs not put together well and if you want little creatures, they walk out of the tank. . After a week I got so frustrated that I threw the whole thing out and will never buy a product like this again
