I have a Mississippi map turtle that I had since June of last year, and ever since I got him he has been picky with every turtle pellet brand as well as eating his vegetables. I was only able to get him to eat earth worms and freeze dried insects and blood worms that I had to dust with vitamins every two days or else he would get a vitamin A deficiency. I’ve tried a lot of types of pellets like crushed up Mazuri, Zoo med hatchling formula, and ReptoMin and he would never ever eat them, but with this food it was different, he took to eating it quickly and I am so proud and overjoyed, he has been eating this good for awhile now and he has been looking much happier and healthier and I don’t have to worry about dusting his food so often because this stuff actually has the nutrients that stopes him for having his on and off vitamin A deficiency. I believed this also got him open into eating his vegetables, I’ve been trying to get him to eat vegetables since he was a tiny hatchling and he didn’t even take a bite until I got him onto this food, now not only does he eat these amazing turtle pellets but he also eats his carrots and romaine lettuce. I wish I could’ve found this food sooner for my Mississippi map turtle,but luckily I found this food in time for my newest pet turtle who is just a tiny Florida red belly cooter, they also very loves this food. This is perfect for smaller turtles and is definitely worth the money, I also love the small spoon it comes with, makes it easier to give them the right amount of food without going overboard with the food. I will buy this again whenever my current bottle runs out.

Baby snapping turtle likes it …
I would recommend this .. if you have a new hatchling .. it’s something they will eat . I will place it in a separate container or cup just with a teaspoon of water to soften it a little bit . The hatchling snapper will spit it out if it’s hard but go back later and eat it . But it was making the tank yucky .. snappers have to swallow food underwater or she can’t swallow . I recommend switching them into a separate feeder tank ( make sure the water is same temp or similar temp as the tank ) . Always make sure they can be on all fours and hold their head above water at least on one side on the container . If they can’t feel safe they might just swim around looking for a shallow place and freek out instead of eating . They actually can drown if they can’t put their body down and lift their heads up . I recommend for sure not feeding in the tank unless your turtle you can see swallows each one and swillers them hard and doesn’t spit it out and come back when it’s mushy otherwise take them out . The food is fish food smelling so it will accumulate to yucky and unlike a fish tank with lots of water . The snapper turtle tank is very low on one side to a beach on the other side .. so there is not too much extra water to filter and your filter will get stuck with yucky fishy smelling turtle food .I hope this helps .
