Think about having someone by your side for sixteen long years, only for them to leave you behind one day without saying why. That’s exactly what happened to a dog named Pocheon. This loyal pup gave his whole heart to his owner, but what he got in return was abandonment. It’s a story that’s as painful as it is heartbreaking.
Pocheon spent most of his life on a chain, often ignored and left outside, but he never stopped being faithful. Even though he wasn’t treated well, he found comfort in small things — a regular meal, the same routine, and a home to stay in. He never asked for much, just a little care and attention.
Sadly, instead of giving Pocheon a better life or bringing him indoors, his owner did something unthinkable. “Instead of bringing the dog inside or finding him a better home, the man simply kicked him out of the yard and left him miles away from his home.”
Wandering in Pain and Confusion
When rescuers came across Pocheon wandering in a deserted area, they were puzzled. He looked old, tired, and lost. Why was a senior dog all alone in the middle of nowhere? Was he lost, or had someone left him behind?
The rescuers searched for answers, and before long, they found a nearby group of people who explained everything. What they learned broke their hearts.
“Apparently, he had been dumped by his owner the minute he purchased a younger dog. Ever since that moment, Pocheon had been walking from the spot of his abandonment to his old home just to beg his old owner to take him in. As you can guess, that never happened.”
Every day, Pocheon walked miles, clinging to hope. He wanted nothing more than to return to the only home he had ever known. But all he got in return was rejection, over and over again — until kindhearted rescuers decided enough was enough.
A New Chance at Life
The rescue team brought Pocheon home right away. At his age, it was clear he was in pain and wouldn’t survive long out on the streets. His body showed signs of exhaustion, and his eyes revealed years of sorrow.
“They decided to give him a shot at the life he deserved, this time without a heartless owner who never considered him a friend.”
During his first visit to the vet, Pocheon was found to have painful intestinal stones. “It was clear now. They were the source of all his pain!” He had been suffering for so long, not just emotionally but physically too.
Fortunately, the vet team stepped in just in time. They gave him around-the-clock care and prepared a meal plan that fit his needs. Slowly, Pocheon began to heal, both inside and out.

Rest, Love, and a Happy Ending
After just a month of good food and gentle care, Pocheon looked like a different dog. His stomach pain eased, and he could finally eat several meals a day without discomfort.
Even though he felt better, he still needed lots of rest. “Given Pocheon’s age and gradual recovery, he spent most of his time cuddling with his other furry friend in his comfy bed, far from high-intensity activities.” And honestly, that kind of slow, peaceful life is perfect for an old pup like him.
“Today, Pocheon is a grateful little grandpa who has forgotten his past experiences. His new people decided to keep him for as long as needed, just to provide him with everything he had been missing out on in his previous years.”
He no longer has to walk long distances, beg for food, or hope someone cares. Now, he’s surrounded by people who love him — all he has to do is wag his tail or give a sweet smile, and he gets all the love and treats he could ever want. And for a dog like Pocheon, who spent so long being overlooked, that love means everything.
