No more Backwash
So far, this water feeder works great! My ducks absolutely love it, and I love that there’s no more stinky backwash water to deal with. It keeps the water much cleaner than traditional bowls, which is a huge plus. The setup was simple, and it seems durable so far. Definitely a win for both me and my ducks!

As advertised and easy to install
We were looking for a better way to maintain a water source for our coop. After looking, these were cost effective and efficient. We installed our on a five gallon bucket and it has made it so our water lasts longer and the chickens have no issues drinking from the cups. Great product.

Wish I’d gotten these sooner
I currently have 5 backyard chickens in Arizona, where the summers can be brutal. My chickens go through a lot of water in the summer months! I had a large gravity-fed watering system that worked decently, but it had a couple of annoying issues: (1) the 360-degree water trough would also get filled with debris that dirtied water; and (2) the plastic container was constantly getting algae or something similar – really a pain to keep clean. And as I discovered, both the container and the base (both plastic) succumb easily to the Arizona heat. I was shocked at the price for a new one.So what about these watering cups? Well, I bought a bucket and lid from Lowes, drilled holes, and had my new watering system up and running in a matter of minutes. No leaks, and the water inside the bucket has managed to stay pristine, meaning better water for the chickens and a lot less cleaning time for me. The little cups do get some dirt in them, but a quick rinse with the hose seems to solve the issue. Other than that, these are working flawlessly. My chickens did take a day or so to figure these out, but that is true when introducing anything new to chickens. One quick tip. I recommend installing these low down on your container. I made the mistake of installing mine 6+ inches from the bottom of the bucket. This means that once the water level dips below that 6″ mark, water can’t enter the watering cups. Put these down low, then use bricks or something similar to elevate the bucket/container to a good drinking height.2 months in with these now, I’m wishing I’d bought them sooner. They do seem a little expensive – the only reason for rating these only 4 stars. Other than that, I highly recommend them.

Plastic threads don’t tighten down fully, allowing leaks.
This is a good waterer. Good size, easy to use, not bad for cleaning, and a simple install process. The problem I have is that the plastic threads on some of the cups (or the wingnuts) is a little loose. When you attempt to tighten the cups fully (so they don’t swivel on the water container and leak) the thread slips as you give the final torque to hold the cup tight. If the threads had a tighter tolerance this would be a perfect watering cup.It uses a gravity feed to keep the cups full. The silicone valve in is spring-loaded, when the cup is full the weight of the water closes the valve. The cup itself is made of a very durable, thick, plastic. The value and tubing plastic is not as durable as the cup itself and as I say in the title, the threads sometimes won’t hold. I’ve been able to mitigate the problem with an extra silicone washer. In general, my experience is that 1 in 4 won’t tighten fully.Cleaning could be hard since the cups are fixed in place. I’ve found that cleaning is much easier when using a dish-cleaning sponge mop (like this: https://smile.amazon.com/Touch-Kitchen-Glassware-Sponge-Handle/dp/B09QNQJ7XH). Pressing the sponge mop fully into the cup, then rotating a couple of times pulls out any debris. A little algae may form at the top edge of the cup near the valve. I’ve found that the best control for that is a bit of apple-cider vinegar. You could use a small brush to scrub it instead, but I haven’t found that necessary. This is a good poultry waterer. If it had more secure threads, then I would say it was perfect!

Very nice product ð
After 13 years of using 1 gallon waterers, I finally decided to “upgrade”. I just ordered 15 chicks, plus my remaining 3 older girls…18 chickens…too much water changing and filling!!!I purchased a 5 gallon food safe bucket and lid from a local big box store. The instructions were simple and clear, and it only took a few minutes to assemble. I tested it before putting it in the run, and it worked perfectly.HOWEVER!!! My girls are currently wary of this new “creature” in their run. LOL!!! I’ll be happy when they are curious enough to try it. Worst case scenario, the chicks will eventually grow into it in a couple months. Looking forward to my watering chores being easier! Nice product!!!Update 1/12/24: It’s been several months since my review was written. Since then, I added 3 more lavender chicks, and all 20, including 2 roosters, are 5 months old. Roosters started crowing this past week, 1 young girl started laying with 15 more getting ready to. They have all become used to the new waterer, and I like it even more now!! It saves SOOOO much work!! I just spray out the cups every few days, and put a little 3% hydrogen peroxide in the water to keep it pure and clean. (about 3-4 TBS per 5 gallons) About every 4-5 weeks I give it a really good cleaning…remove cups, and clean everything with soapy water, then spray with hydrogen peroxide, and rinse. Wonderful product!!! Should have done this YEARS ago! LOL!! BTW…the 2 roosters have decided to be “friends” and life is GOOD!! One is the boss, and there is total peace between them. LOVE the crowing!!! 🙂

These are perfect little water cups! Iâve had them for the past 3 months, and theyâre holding up great. I only had one instance where the spring in one of the cups came out when I was cleaning them, but it was super easy to pop it back in. They also shouldnât overflow unless the cups are twisted a bit to the side. So far Iâm very satisfied with them!
Amazon Customer –
These water cups work great! I really like these one because the chickens can get a good drink from it and there’s room for a couple of them to share one. I put them on a bucket closer to the bottom for best pressure and drainage. It’s nice to see they fill up automatically. Using the bucket enables me to have them outside and move them around when need be. For inside the coup I can attach them to their auto water system and replace the old ones. I replaced the other small water cups I had. The ones with the yellow push valve the chickens hit with their beak. Those cups never held enough water and they were constantly having to trigger it. Sometimes it didn’t work and sometimes the valve kept dribbling the water out, so there was no way of stopping it. With these cups they just stop filling once full. No fuss, no water mess!

I thought this brand could be better than other because of price. But quality is very poor and two of cup of them is leaking. Also others doesnât look like stay long. Find something else if you want quality or make a diy one, much better.

Seems okay so far. We did have it lower to the ground so the chickens got dirt into it. Not the easiest to clean but does the job.
