How effective are the scat mats for deterring cats?
Our scat mats demonstrate an average effectiveness of 85% on cats, largely dependent on cat’s natural behavior.

Game-Changer for Litter Box Issues!
I bought this product to resolve a long-standing issue: my cat had been consistently pooping and occasionally peeing on the carpet in a specific area behind my couch. This went on for 18 months, and no matter how much I cleaned the spot, the behavior persistedâuntil I tried these scat mats. The results were immediate! As soon as I placed the mats, my cat stopped soiling the area entirely and started pooping 100% of the time in his litter box. He was already peeing in the box about 50% of the time, and even that has improved. This product has been life-changing for both of us.Iâm soon getting a new desk, and the dining room table Iâve been using as a desk will take the place of these mats. I might leave a few mats underneath the table as an extra deterrent since I wonât really be sitting at it, but Iâm hopeful that all the praise Iâve given him for using the litter box will stick. (Though I do wish he would bury his poop!)Pros:Affordable and incredibly effective as a temporary training tool.Easy to set upâI used zip ties to connect the rectangles (not mentioned in the product details but very helpful for creating a stable mat layout).Perfect for stopping cats from soiling specific problem areas.Cons:If you step on the mats, they hurtâthough thankfully they donât pierce the skin.Walking on the mats can damage them slightly, so they may not last long in high-traffic areas.Works best on surfaces where you donât walk often, like tabletops or counters.Overall, I highly recommend these scat mats for anyone dealing with cats soiling outside the litter box. They are an affordable, effective solution that gets the job done. With proper placement and consistent positive reinforcement, they can be a great tool for training your cat to avoid problem spots!

Effectively keeps cat off!
My cat recently developed a habit of pursuing on our counters, which I tolerated UNTIL she found the baby’s formula, opened it, and played in it/ate it…. TWICE. In a fed up fury, I bought these as step 1 of getting her off the counter. I placed a couple of them on the counter, which a decorative pumpkin with dried flowers in the middle that she historically likes to gnaw on. To my disappointment, there was evidence of her on the counter the next morning. It took me some trial and error, but this is what I’ve learned….1) Cover the entire counter. If she had some space to walk freely, she will.2) She won’t ‘land’ on them from jumping. So I put them on the barstools, because she doesn’t like to jump straight to the counter from the floor. The product itself works. It’s a matter of outsmarting my cat at least with the placement of the product. In addition to my counters, I placed them on the back of the couch to deter her from slumping the cushions and she leaves them alone.A good price for some piece of mind. They are sharp and unpleasant, and good quality. Each square is a good size, larger than I expected them to be.

orks well for their intended purpose
Works quite well in keeping cats away from an outside cinder-block wall. Next step is to buy some more and place on top of the walls so if they decide to jump up they will get a …surprise. Only 4 stars because the way to interconnect them is sub-optimal, I needed to attach them together with zip ties in the end.

Keeps cats off the counter
I’ll start by saying I have 9 cats from 1 year old to 9 years old. And weigh between 4.5 lbs to 14-15lbs.I needed a way to keep my cats off the counter, top of fridge and away from the gas fireplace (yes, even when lit. They’re not smart.). I tried the aluminum foil trick and that worked for about 4 days and then they really could have cared less. One of them even started using it as a bed. So, bought these without much hope because these felines are stubborn. Surprisingly, these actually work. You do have to overlap them and not attach them with the puzzle piece like tabs because they will walk between the panels. You get 12 panels for a decent price and they arrived pretty quickly. Each panel has plastic spikes that are pokey but not sharp. If I had any concerns about my cats (including my 50 lb dog) being injured on them I would have sent them back. They’re just pokey enough to be annoying and uncomfortable. I will probably be ordering one or two more packs of these for other areas that I’d like them to stay out of because they actually work.

Works great – Furniture Saved!
Finally a solution that worked!!! My chaise lounge has been saved! My cat, a senior, had begun peering on my furniture. While I bought a waterproof blanket, I was still unhappy that the cat would pee DAIlY and then I would have odor and a huge waterproof blanket to wash – a big chore. Now, I have dry, safe furniture!

I put these on top of a shag rug that my cat was doing his business on⦠He is smart enough to know that he should not walk on them and has returned to doing his business in the litter box. I will leave them out a while longer nonetheless because they are clear and donât look horrific.I have a multi cat household, and they are all smart enough to not hurt themselves on the mats. Their curiosity was piqued, and they touched them with their paws, but did not make any attempt to walk on them. Me, on the other hand, I accidentally stepped on one, and I nearly did a 360 in the air⦠Lol.

Works for cats. Iâve used it on dining chairs, tables, etc. They donât dare to jump. ð

We set these up to block the babies room from cats that want to yodel the baby awake.Normally, the cats cock-a-doodle-doo at 3am. But this night was different. At 12am, the cats were bulldozing these mats all around the house. I woke up to crazy eyes and perked whiskers shoving these mats everywhere! We tried for a week. Because they’re clear, humans suffer the most when attempting to cross. They are invisible!! Nobody was spared.Nope. Returning these cat toys and human torture devices

My cat walks on it. No deterrent at all.
