Book doesn’t make animal sounds
I love the animals. The sounds for the book didn’t work. They suggested I take the book apart and look at wiring. It’s brand new. Tried batteries. Still nothing. I just want a book that works.

Great kid-appeal
I have to admit the book that comes with this set went AWOL shortly after my niece opened the box. But the animals have stayed in heavy rotation as components of her play–they drink tea, they scale the heights of her princess tent, they become dolls for her dolls, and so on. The color and detail are much better on these figurines than most of the ones I’ve seen in gift shops at zoos and parks.

These animals are a great size to make holding them easier for little kids. They are also rather soft on impact in case they are thrown, although the material itself is very rigid and will hold up against being stepped on. I really like the detail of the painting/printing on them, making them look more realistic than a lot of the ones you see that don’t give as much attention to detail. Also, the texture of the animals is much more fine than you typically see. The book is a great addition too and is good quality material and bound nicely. There are a lot of fun for a younger kid or toddler.
