Works great!
I have this heater in a one gallon beta tank. Its works perfectly and keeps the water at78 degrees all year. You just position it where you want in the tank and that’s it. I bought one last year and still have that one in the tank . This is a backup in case that one goes but so far it’s still going. Excellent value for the money. Easy to set up.

The rubber seal on top broke and killed all our fish!!!
This little heater was great for months, until this morning when we saw all our fish dead. The heater separated from the top rubber, the coils unit was open and submerged very deep in the tank (see photo) the water temperature was super hot, all fish weâve had for 1.5yr (both my kids have named each one and weâve learned each of their personalities) are all dead. It was quite traumatic even for me to see the fishes dead and the water felt very warm. We thought we were being good fish family providing proper temp water year around especially in winter months but this heater malfunctioned and quickly electricuted or slowly boiled our dearly loved fishes. We were all crying. There should be a better design so this cannot happen. There should be an auto off feature if water inside the coils are detected to prevent tragic events like this.

Good heater
Bought for my betta fish, suction cups were good. The glass tube gets hot. Came with no instructions. Worked for about 2 months, then during a changing of the water I made a mistake and plugged in, [it heats up fast] and then I put into the water – immediately shattered. Broke into two major pieces so it was easy to get them out. Set it in my sink to cool down, then threw away. My fish seemed to like it but wouldn’t get to close. No temperature gauge so you’ll need a separate thermostat to take the current temp. Good value for money just don’t make the same mistake I did and put in water first THEN plug in. Oops!

I was taking fish upstairs when it got cold and my situation changed so I was busy and couldn’t be worrying about the water temperature and needed to leave fish there other’s would remember to see and feed it. This heater did the trick. It’s stopped sitting still and started swimming again. Had it for nearly two years siamese fish lost track of time but seems like forever and this is maybe it 3rd year with me after my niece got too busy and bored with it. Doing great with heater in tall gallon vase fish bowl.
