I am not an avid fisherman. I don’t like killing and cleaning fish. However with the uncertainty of the world right now I’ve been putting together survival packs and fishing is a pretty core survival skill. Human civilization is built along waterways because fish are an important part of the human diet, historically speaking, and if you are ever forced to live off the land for any reason it’s pretty useful to know how to fish and have the tools to do it. Also the proper licensing for your area and a knowledge of where it’s ok to fish and what it’s ok to catch.This kit comes with two collapsible rods that are miles ahead of anything I used growing up in the 90s. They break down so they can store away easily which is a feature that attracted me to these rods. Easy to assemble and disassemble. The kit comes with a little tackle box full of hooks and lures, you’ll obviously need to source bait on your own.As a non expert I’m not sure what kind of fishing these are best suited for but I can’t imagine they are for very heavy fish. I reckon looking at this this that might break these poles. The picture on the pole has a fish on the line with the number 2.8 kg so that is probably your weight limit right there. Honestly pretty surprisingly high, though I haven’t tested it.It seems like every section of the pole is made of a different material. The parts near the handle seem more like plastic tubing, the center segments seem like metal and the very last segment seems like fiberglass, which is mostly safe but you should avoid touching it because the splinters are not fun.Overall extremely pleased. Very beginner friendly set. Can’t wait to re learn how to use these.

Great little starter fishing set
I got this fishing set for my nephew, who is really starting to get into fishing. He is 12, and this is perfect for him. He was excited to see all the items included, including two telescoping reels that fold to fit just about anywhere.A cute little tackle box is also included, and has just about everything you need except bait.A perfect starter kit for young anglers.I do recommend this for the young, inexperienced fishers in your household. Is this a professional, high-quality set of fishing gear? No, not at all. But it is precisely as advertised, if not a bit on the side of cheaply made.Almost worth the 50 dollar price tag.Four stars.
