Still A Quiet Operation
Our cat wheel from Nordic Beast is a well constructed product. We’ve had ours now for a year and it still looks and Sounds new. Not noisy at all. The cats definitely use it.

Well made, fairly quiet
Let’s get this one out of the way: It’s expensive. That said, I was really impressed at how it was designed. It’s the first piece of furniture I’ve assembled that actually used plastic anchor inserts to screw into. And all plywood, not particle board. I am hoping that the combination should make it safe to disassemble & reassemble multiple times.Everything was well packed and no damage during shipment. Package contents included a set of cotton gloves to use for the assembly (to limit splinters?) and a small piece of sandpaper in case there is any wood that needs to be sanded down (didn’t need to use it). It also included spare screws and anchors. It included a screwdriver as well.Follow the assembly instructions, particularly the bit about not tightening everything initially. During the initial assembly I only slightly snugged the screws, and then backed out about a half turn or so, and only tightened everything down after it was fully assembled. I did the first few using a manual screwdriver to get a feel for how much effort was required, then I shifted to trying to use a drill driver set to a really low torque setting (I didn’t go past 3 out of 20 on my drill), and I tried to stop before actually hitting the torque limiter. This meant I tended to start with the drill and then finish the snugging with the manual screwdriver. Once everything was fully assembled I went back around and tightened all of the screws using a manual screwdriver.Do keep in mind that this is large. I knew this, and it was the main reason I purchased it (I wanted the cats to be able to stretch out), but even so I was still a bit surprised at how big it was. Assembly can be done with one person (I did it by myself, aside some periodic “assistance” from the cats), but there are a couple steps that would be easier with two people simply due to the size.So far, out of 4 cats I’ve managed to get 1 to use it, and on the first day, using a combination of the included wand toy and laser pointer. One out of four might not sound great, but it is what I was hoping for. The youngest was running laps around the house so I was hoping this would give him an outlet without leaving a wake of destruction and so far it seems to have worked. If I can eventually get the older kids on it too that would just be a bonus.Sound-wise, it is audible when in use (as expected) but not obnoxious. I have it in the basement currently and when it is in use I can hear a slight rumbling at the top of the open stairway. There is no squeaking, squealing, or other annoying sounds.Update: Both of my boys are now using this, so that’s 2 out of 4 cats using it which is even better than I had hoped for. Unfortunately, I haven’t managed to get either of my girls to try it out yet.Update: One of the girls decided to try it out on her own. That makes 3 out of 4 cats using it, a 75% success rate!

Best Cat Toy Ever!!!
Our cats love this wheel. From the moment it arrived in the box, they were curious. They were there with me when I put it together and were sniffing every part of it. I let them scratch on the carpet before I ever attached it to the wheel. I really feel this approach helped them be comfortable with it once it was fully assembled. It’s a big wheel! They didn’t freak out when they saw it because they watched me put it together. They love running on it, especially at night. Sometimes in the middle of the night we hear them running it. The training instructions provided with the wheel worked good and I recommend following them. All in all, for us, it was worth the money and we get great laughs watching them play on it.

My cats love it
The best purchase I ever made. My cats absolutely love this wheel. I have had this for a year now and my cats can’t stay off of it. They love their long strolls and occasionally will see how fast they can go. The Nordic Beast was easy to assemble and has been durable, my fairly large cats (9 to 11lbs) and they love it! If you ever have to contact Nordic Beast, The customer service was impeccable.

1 Year Update! Great Product For Larger Cat
02/27/25 Happy to reiterate my review with a short video clip. Zeno loves the wheel. Uses it often, whether itâs because she wants to run and/or play on it, or use it to torment her âcousinâ, my brotherâs dog, when they come to visit. Great product that Iâd definitely recommend for others, especially those with larger cats, to purchase.Arrived earlier than expected. This product is exactly as advertised. My cat immediately took to it once assembly was completed which, by the way, went pretty seamless with 2 of us working in tandem to complete it. About an hour. Wheel is large and she, as a longer cat, seems to fit without that arched or cramped feel. Wheel also worked very smoothly and is quiet. Great product, smart purchase, and stylish looking. Feels like I got new furniture!

Absolutely love this wheel and my kitties Chowder and Toast use it all day everyday!My bigger boy chowder runs really hard sometimes and managed to break part of the very well made and sturdy frame! When I emailed support I was immediately shipped a replacement part! Great product from a great business! Highly recommend to all looking at investing in a cat wheel. Donât go plastic. They will break.
