    Holy cow, pretty good
Unlike comments posted about some other company’s wet crickets, these seemed quite fresh when we opened a can. There was barely a smell, maybe a little like cooked brocolli, but even that was faint. In other words, no sign of mold or rot.The other PROs:- the cans are pretty small, which I consider a feature not a bug (sorry!). That means that we can give out the entire can to our flock of 20 chickens in one day & don’t have to store an opened can in the fridge.- the crickets are not all the same size. So we can give the roosters the biggest ones and let the chicks eat the smaller bugs without worrying about them choking- our chickens went out of their minds when we doled them out. A hen would grab one and run off into a remote part of the yard to feast on it in privacy. And if she didn’t run fast enough, other birds would rush her and try to grab the bug out of her mouth. These crickets are not cheap, but that’s OK. They’re a special treat that we don’t want to give to the birds more than once every day or two. But they’re quite nutritious, I’d guess, being so much like the birds’ natural food in the wild. And the fact that we haven’t (so far, at least) had to worry about quality makes them worth the money to us.The only CON:- the soda-can-like pull-tab tops are really hard to pry open. Our cans required the biggest male in the house to open & even he struggled.Five stars, A+++. We’ve tried a zillion types of food for our birds, and these crickets are the only option that rivals live meal worms that we buy locally, when it comes to how much the chickens like them.

    Best for my Leo Gecko
I saw these on Amazon and decided to give them a try. It sucks having to drive to Petco every few days for crickets in 115° heat here in Arizona. I was shocked. He loves these things. There are only two issues. One is the fact that a lot of these are so gigantic and you can’t cut them because my gecko won’t eat them if the exoskeleton is broken open. The other issue are the wings. They don’t seem to digest very well, at least in my spotted guy. So I take tweezers to grab them, and scissors and cut them off.Yes these have to be refrigerated after opening. I wish the label said how long before they go bad. When they’ve been refrigerated, I get them ready on a paper plate. I find the smallest ones first, cut the wings off and then I microwave them for 5 seconds at 60%. One of them is usually quite a bit warmer than the other, so I feed that one to him last. But he doesn’t like to eat cold food and I don’t blame him since he’s cold-blooded. Seems like it would make him cold from the inside out. It doesn’t cook the inside of the grasshopper, it just makes it more room temperature.I haven’t had to drive to Petco since I started feeding him these and my gecko loves them so much that he comes out every night looking for them even though I won’t give them to him every day. But when I do feed them to him, I hold one with bamboo tongs and he comes running out. It’s obvious that he truly truly loves these grasshoppers and is excited to eat them. From my research, grasshoppers are a lot healthier than crickets anyway. So I am really glad that I found these and I’m glad that they are prime and arrive quickly. If the seller is reading this, it would be great to add in the description, how long they can be in the refrigerator before you need to throw them out. But, it really should be on the label.

    Faulty merchandise
None of the worms were alive when I got them. 6 cans and not a single worm in the three I opened! It was horrible and not eligible to return???? This seems like a consumer violation.

    Good price
They are not live but our Bearded Dragon Loved them. They are large in size. Much more cost effective then buying the ones from pet shops

    Great backup food for herps
I like to keep these in stock at all times, just in case I don’t have feeders on hand for my bearded dragon. They’re also a great snack to promote variety and enrichment. My blue tongue skink, hermit crabs and death feigning beetles all enjoy them. Each can contains dried small mealworms (as opposed to the moist packed style like ProBugs). The cans aren’t full to the top, but more like 75% full. The quality seems equivalent to other brands. I particularly like that the can comes with a plastic lid to store some for later. In my experience, these keep in the fridge for up to 3 days, so I can dole them out sparingly. One star off for less-than-full cans, but otherwise I’m quite pleased.

    NOT LIVE
Not live feels like the description could’ve been more clear. My gecko won’t eat them.

    Gecko’s love them!
Lots of Gecko’s means less garden insects. Gecko’s love these and by scattering some around their ‘hunting’ grounds will assist them and keep them close when many of the insects are not around, due to cooler or dryer weather. Also, my bluebirds are happy too. They arrived in sealed cans, nice and ‘meaty’ and ready to use. Priced well and shipped fast via Prime.
