The BEST on the market.
Plenty of different brands online that claim to do the same thing. Of them all, I trust API the most.My fish were showing signs of fin rot despite perfect water conditions. To any experienced fish keeper, you already know how scary that can be. The last thing I ever want is to lose any of my beautiful fish. This product right here will give your fish a second chance at life despite what bacterial bloom you experience in your tank.Itâs also simple. Dose according to instructions for the duration needed and boom, this stuff works its magic. You can now go back to enjoying your aquascape in peace.I have used this product many times before. In nano tanks, tanks big and small, even my pond! Highly recommend.

A Quick Cure for Freshwater Fish
I have a 85 gal freshwater aquarium with 8 large Angel Fish living in a well taken care of fish tank. However a couple days ago I noticed one of my Black Angel fish had a rather large white spot on its side which appeared to be velvet disease. I ordered this product and immediately applied the medication as instructed on the bottle. Within 3 day the spot was nearly visible. I’m extremely happy I administered this product in the event any other Angels Fish were infected. I will complete medicating the tank a full 7 days before I perform my 25% water change, as recommended on the bottle. Great product and very pleased my Angel Fish are once again healthy and happy.

There is nothing better for your fish, and smells great!
I first bought this product on Amazon in March 2011, I have since bought 16oz once a year till 2013, and then I bought a 64oz, which I stored to long and went bad, but that is on me. I just bought another 16oz again for my 5th time in 2024. I love this stuff, it has saved so many fish of mine over the years. It is not a miracle cure, if a fish is to far gone, it won’t save them. Its great for other fish, put in with new fish, little bit each week just to keep everyone healthy. I have NEVER had it ever harm a fish ever. Though, like with anything, I am sure that potential exists if not used as directed. I really cannot recommend this stuff more, it is the best fish product I have ever bought, it works, its safe 99% of the time, and it smells great, your tank will smell better. I cannot say enough good about this product. If you have fish, you should keep this in stock.

WARNING : NOT SAFE FOR SNAILS!!!!
I’ve used this before, & just ordered a new bottle. In general I do believe it will treat fish as described. When I’ve used this in the past, it was in a fish only tank. Currently I have a mystery snail, & this product states its safe for snails. If you research on Google you’ll find plenty of “sources” saying it’s safe for snails. HOWEVER, THAT IS NOT THE CASE WHATSOEVER! within one minute of dosing my 65gal tank, my snail was at the waterline trying to get out. Luckily I have a small quarantine tank, I immediately removed my snail & he’s recovering. Apon a deep internet search into forums, I found this product almost kills/ kills snails left in the treated water. Lots of people trusted the “sources” & left their struggling snails in the treated tanks for hours, & the result are ghastly. My suggestion is to relocate your snails while treating your fish, & thoroughly clean your tank before putting back into the population.

Used for seven years! Plants, fish, snails, crayfish, safe for all things!
I read reviews before repurchase in case a bad seller or something. I see reviews saying it killed my fish or beware and itâs only as good as the user. I have had close to 20 tanks going at once with all kinds of fish, plants and invertebrates, all kinds. This kills nothing if used properly and providing the right environment for the fish. This means fish get sick because of water quality, improper housing or introducing an infected item into the tank. So one of those are your first problem to correct. So back to introducing this medication into your tank, it will not stain anything or hurt any living thing in your tank. All tanks need a filter or air stone (even bettas/surface breathers) on tanks with lighter agitation Need To Add Oxygen To The Water! This stuff makes the water kind of thicker for lack of a better word. Itâs like us walking uphill, adds stress to a sick fish if not given ample oxygen in the water. If you do not correct this, a sick fish will die. My fish will be less active when down to one filter and this stuff, I throw in an extra air stone and their back chasing each other again. Cloudy tanks…lack of proper filtration, too much meds?? Why happen in some tanks and not others? I add mine slowly, giving the fish time to adjust to something new. Another way to think of it, is if you have Cory Catfish in your tank, ten other people have Cory in their tank. We all introduce the medication, yours die, other ten tanks fish are healed, law of averages says the medication is not the problem. Should be listed in description, people obviously donât just know this. This is my go to for most causes. Also the higher the temp in your tank, the less oxygen provided, so if you turn up the heat make sure the oxygen level is comfortable. Watch your fish whenever introducing something new.I am currently treating my tank with a full dose of Melafix and a full dose of Pimafix. My baby Angelfish, no bigger then a dime are doing just fine.

Not good for Snails!!
I bought this to cure red spots on my fish. I followed the instructions as directed, and the red spots are now completely gone. Unfortunately, however, all of my snails died 🙁

I cannot comment on the item itself as it is delayed and receipt date was changed several times. The product was used before and it works well.

I got melafix for Fin Rot in my goldfish. Have been using it for a week. My tank is 590L so been using 7.5caps everyday at the same time. I think the mistake most people do is add the medicine an hour earlier than the day before and that could be dangerous. It’s always important to add the medicine at the SAME time everyday. I’ve used it for a week now. No significant changes as such. Maybe slight improvement. I’ll try for another week and see. At first the fish get really startled so it’s important to keep an eye on them if any of them is swimming to top or gasping. None of mine did as I thoroughly increased the aeration in the tank. Also, if it is very hot then there will be naturally less oxygen in the tank. For that i added some frozen water bottles (make sure they are absolutely clean). For my big tank I added 2 – 1 L bottles. Please ensure you add little amount to yours based on your tank size as the fish should not get shocked with temperature changes.Overall my fish are usually very fussy with new meds but by day 3 they seemed okay with it. Fish will only get harmed if there is less aeration, water is too hot, you have used some previous treatment in the tank (so wait at least a week and then do 50% water change and only then add melafix) and please REMEMBER TO ADD AT THE SAME TIME EVERYDAY. Not before that.If you follow these steps 99% your fish will be safe.Update:Didn’t have any effect. Treated fro almost 2 weeks diligently. One of my little goldfish had red veins there was absolutely no effect on that. Same condition after 2 weeks. Didn’t see any improvement in other fish in the case of finrot either. Maybe 2% effect? Definitely not worth the amount of money spent. Although it’s safe for fish so that’s a good thing? Please remember to aerate the tank extremely well as this depletes oxygen in tank.

Effective fish medicine for tail/fin rot. As the product is organic it does not affect the bio filter and live stock including plants.
