High Value Low Cost LED alternative to fluorescent lighting
I am really inpressed with this LED light. I had an old Perfecto fluorescent light on a 20 gallon fish tank. Initially I was just planning to purchase a new replacement fluorescent bulb but then I realized the cost had come down so much on LED lighting and aquired this for perhaps the cost of one to 2 fluorescent bulbs. It is very easy to assemble and you can plug it into a cheap indoor timer to give it the ability to turn on and off on automatically. The cost for the timer and the light was around $23. Heat from the LED light is noticeably less than from the fluorescent, and no hassles with the infamous flicker that fluorescent bulbs suffer as they age. Also, the colors of my fish and aquarium decor are noticeably more vibrant than under the fluorescent light. Doesn’t quite cover entire tank width but seems to provide ample and excellent lighting. Here’s some pics comparing the light differences.

Functional, and a Great Price.
When the florescent aquarium light failed, I was looking for a replacement tube. But, I was wary, as reviews on replacement florescent tubes were just so-so. The other concern I had was the hood always was damp inside the fixture.. moisture waa always there. I saw this relatively inexpensive LED aquarium light on Amazon. The open design would mean no moisture condensing underneath the hood. The price was right, not much more than the cost of a couple of florescent tubes, and much better reviews. So, I purchased one. The results have been excellent. The LED light is bright, and no condensation, forming on and around the light, due to its open design. The new light slipped right over the aquarium cover, I adjusted it to fit, and plugged it in. Immediately the light came on, and waa bright, and even, just what I wanted. The only problem I’ve has, just a minor one, really is that the switch ended up in a poor, hard to reach area. This problem can be solved with an extension cord, so not a real game changer. When the other florescent aquarium light I have fails, I will be back for another one of these. Low up front costs, and lower electricity use due to the fact its LED, means lower costs over the long haul. Five Big Stars all around.

Worth every penny
This was the cheapest aquarium light I could find and I am very glad I picked this up. It’s bright and fits on the top of my tank perfectly. The plants are growing very well and is the only light that hasn’t caused a takeover of algae in my tank lol. My only gripes is about the build quality. Its very sturdy with a very good build quality except for the clear plastic covering the led’s which is kinda loose and the mounting brackets which are also kinda loose. It definelty is not an issue and for 8 freaking dollars I would highly recommend this light to anyone. 8.7/10 for me

Love these lights!
Iâve now bought these lights 3 times! I love them the first time I bought them it lasted 3 years. Bought a replacement lasted maybe a year but that was more my fault than the manufacturer. It got to much water splashed on it when tank was evaporated so the filter would splash up on it but I bet if that didnât happen and I was more diligent on filling up my tank itâd still be working. I now am getting lid for my tank to help with this problem and keep the fishies more safe. I love these lights have great vibrancy and amazing settings. Definitely would buy again. Great price, easiest thing ever to set up. Everyone who comes over and sees their lights marvels at them. They definitely make the tank quite the spectacle. Would recommend everytime

An Honest Review
For under ten dollars this light does perform very well i do wish it was a bit larger i got this for my 5 gallon tank, It is the smallest size. In my biggest gripe is the lights intensity is not adjustable and there is no timer function. However, kind of myself to blame for going with a cheaper option. If you don’t care about adjustable light parameters and perhaps a timer function, this light is amazing and should perform well under most conditions. I will say, after testing out another brand which does have these functionalities in mind, for essentially, ten more, maybe fifteen mkre bucks depending on the size of your tank I will be replacing it with another one from that brand. You get what you pay for and in this case I will likely just it as grow light If I plan to propagate small batches of plants later.

I have a 16″ betta tank. I did not realize that this light is actually only about 9-1/2″ long. The rest is just a retractable arm on either sides to hang onto the tank. The retractable arms are not very secure. When I did chores with the tank, the light fell into the water a couple of times. Water then got inside the glass panel of this light and the led lights started to rust. This light is not as bright as the other led lights because it has less white light to blue/red light ratio. I wanted more blue/red lights so I expected this. My recommendation is that this light is good for perhaps only an 11″ or 12″ tank or the light will be too short in length (not bright enough) and it will be too easy to fall into the water.
